I am from Peter Fidler's hometown of Bolsover, where there is a small monument and a nature reserve named in his honour. His little town in England is a world away in all respects from this grand wilderness. Sadly, he seems to be more revered in Canada than in his native land.

Hello cousins 😂 Peter fiddler was my 5th great grandfather. Peter-Charles-Alexander-Mary etc etc. Fun fact… I have been a land surveyor for the past 15 years. Ended up in this field of work several years before learning any knowledge of my ancestry.

Hey Jordan! I am also from Peter-Mary, Charles-Ann, and then James-Letitia. My first job after moving from SK to Alberta was a surveyor's assistant for AMEC! Must be in the Blood! ;)

@@Bluntsmoke he married a Cree woman and they had 14 (or other sources have said 15) children. This easily explains why there are so many descendants !
