This song features World Vision Kenya Big Dream team and other partners championing for the children's rights to education in Pokot. In it's endeavours, World Vision has been sensitising the Pokot community against retrogressive cultural practices like FGM which limits the education of the girl child.
June Chepochot, first daughter of Akoret in East Pokot to have graduated from the University and now working as a project officer for World Vision Lokis AP, dances with vigor to the song that is giving her and her sisters the voice to charge on as a young generation of girls for Education and against FGM.
The fact that she dances alongside her senior colleagues from World vision, other community leaders like the Baringo Chief Officer for Education & Commissioner PSB Baringo County, DCCs, and the local Chief next to her is indicative of the approval "Yes Yes"
The progress being made in East Pokot as the community embraces education more while shunning FGM will forever be entrenched and remembered in this beautiful song.
This masterpiece by Kiptalam not only reveals the Pokot culture but also attempts to address the challenges affecting the progress of the Pokot community through the Pokot language and culture itself, through Music, the most powerful universal tool of communication.
