Everyone’s been preaching investing lately as a source of passive income but with a 70 hour weekly jobs and limited knowledge of financial instruments, how can I actually stay on top of things, I see every RU-vid video saying BUY BUY! But when and how do I sell for profit at the right time?

It's crucial to have a well-thought-out strategy and not make impulsive moves based on short-term fluctuations. Patience and a long-term perspective are key. You should consider a investment expert to guide you.

Accurate asset allocation is crucial, I do use hedging strategies to allocate part of my portfolio to defensive assets for market downturns. Expert guidance is vital for achieving this. This approach has helped me stay financially secure for over five years, yielding nearly $1M in returns on investments.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

Correct, although my view is that once a company has jumped by so much, it's unusual for it to grow at the same amount. Obviously there's outliers (such as TSLA), but most companies will have their initial burst of growth, but eventually this growth will slow down. In my view if you're taking the view of investing in companies over 3, 5, 10 years and looking for significant returns on that single stock, once it the growth begins to slow or show signs of reversing, it's best to take the profits and invest them elsewhere. This is what Lynch did after all with chains like Taco Bell. He liked that it was doing well in Cali and was expanding west, and noted that most Americans hadn't been exposed to Taco's, meaning massive potential for growth.

Toys R US is the same as what can happen to the German grocery supplier HelloFresh. The stock is still doing well, but I see customers getting more and more unhappy because the food is increasingly stale. You can see how things will go in the future when the market is saturated because there are no more new customers. The balance sheet numbers are still good, but having a source of information nearby gives you advantages over the uninformed people who are still invested.

The one take out of this interview is that there is no good time to sell a stock. Warren Buffett has many times stated that he regrets selling certain stocks in Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio - including Disney (missed out on a 200 bagger). McDonalds, General Dynamics (missed a 12 bagger) to name 3. Warren also stated he only sells if he has to or sees a possible greater company to invest in. There is no exact science.
