I listened to Peter on RnR on the Italian Adriatic in 69 it warmed my soul. Still does. I'll meet you someday Peter, BUT just not yet OK 75 🍁hunter Yorkshire expat
When I first heard Sting''s 'Every breath you take" immediately thought there is a stalkers anthem, very creepy song. But it helped me remember Sarstedt's brilliant song. and while there was a remote similarity Sarstedt's song wasn't creepy but a beautifully told story with clever lyrics and that fantastic waltz ?? melody.
I heard this for the first time today. And when he sang "your loveliness goes on and on" I came across on Facebook the picture of a girl I have a mad crush on. I told her the line and she recognized the song. I never heard it before.
Are the two children in rags referring to himself and the girl as his sister? So he knows exactly what she has gone through? .... Or just a bloody beautiful song? X
Yes, it is his sister who has put all of her old friends and family behind to create a new life but who can never really escape. The brother imagines the kind of life she leads from the upmarket (to him) brands and celebrities he sees advertised.
