Peter is unable to finesse explanations on this issue, and never has. Blunt instrument, directly to the point. Adrian comes close to doing the same, only a little more eloquent with a dash of English charm. Rick will jazz it up a bit, with a sarcasm style only he can deliver. Steve Stern We have chosen to pay off most of our high interest debts now. Still have a small mortgage, but we are trying to sell that property, and not be tied down to any geographical area. More wealth being put into gold and silver for the longer term. Investing in junior miners to grow wealth and live. Flexibility is key for us to be able to take advantages of volatility and opportunity.

You should look of “Wealth Cycles” by Mike Maloney, I believe his RU-vid channel is GoldSilver. He tries to show I’m that video that assets simply go up and down relative to each other so gold is currently undervalued, will become overvalued, then back down to undervalued. So you simply want to change back and forth between the overvalued to undervalued assets

He analyzed the state of the economy and his understanding of economics allowed him to forecast the biggest financial crisis in our history.

Peter Schiff appears to make a point that I have been dwelling upon for some time. If one looks at the inverted pyramid of world wealth with Derivatives, bonds stocks, treasuries, cash etc gold is a mere fraction of its percentage, with silver a small speck beneath. My point is, that except for the relatively small specks at the bottom, everything is either cash (currency) or redeemable in same. If the currencies are going over the cliff, there is nothing else of consequence left on the pyramid. except that which one would need a looking glass to see..

Would be great to hear the opposing argument for lower gold. It'd be a more balanced discussion. Is there any argument for lower gold other than the crackpot dollar milkshake theory? ;)

look at 2011. The few who said the dollar would appreciate were called "crackpot" theories and shouted down by the likes of Schiff. You think in 2011 any of these guys were even considering lower gold prices? look at the Sprott funds that lost investors 100% and were delisted on the exchange. In 40 years of investing, one thing I know for sure is when a trade is overloaded, it will go the otherway. Right now? The trade is overloaded to a falling dollar, is it overloaded enough? Time will tell. The Macro thesis of dollar losing value is probably very correct, but those periods when a trade is against you? look out. Markets can remain "crazy" "irrational" for longer than you have money. Thats why all these guys manage OTHER PEOPLES MONEY! They make millions regardless of what the market does.

@@thefireman2854 I agree that when a trade is overcrowded, it will tend to go the other way. Sometimes quite mysteriously. This is precisely why I'd like to hear legitimate arguments for why it can go the other way. The only counter argument I've heard has been the dollar milkshake theory. Brent Johnson has even admitted that he lost money trying to trade it. Unfortunately, because Schiff has been calling for a collapse for the last 10 years (Lol) he has lost some credibility with his timing. However, when Ray Dalio and Warren Buffett join the gold train and sell financials, you've got to consider that something is brewing in the direction of a weaker dollar. What were the fundamentals in 2011 that drove the dollar higher? What would be the fundamentals for a higher dollar now?

@@jayflaggs I am not familiar with the "milkshake" theory. Not trying to defend that. Nor am I an advocate for a strong dollar either. I have been a physical metals buyer and holder since 2004, have never sold any, and do not plan to for a long time. If you look at the dollar in 2011 it was weaker than it is today. I would also say that it is pertinent to consider that because there may be correlation between 2 things (in this case Gold and USD) may not ALWAYS mean causation. Just because one variable changes, does not mean it was the cause of the other. But at times I do agree that correlations matter (until they don't) From my perspective in 2011 sentiment for the economy and the markets were mixed, but most leaned to the downside. Uncertainty, a falling real estate market, and Doom and Gloom predictions were the headlines and highlights of CNBC and the WSJ. Many people were predicting the demise of USD. It doesnt take much to start a short squeeze the opposite way of a trade when most are on the same side of it. If a large enough selloff occurs in leveraged financial markets, the potential for a spike in the USD is obvious. It may be short lived, however, it in turn can create selling of other assets comex held gold/silver positions to cover losses in other leveraged investments. Have you ever watched a few of Stephen Van Metre vids? He really has a firm grasp on FED policy and actions and the effects of it. If you are looking for fundementals combined with technical analysys it is worth a watch.

@@thefireman2854 The dollar milkshake theory was originated by Brent Johnson and basically says that because the dollar will remain the strongest of the bad bunch even as all currencies tend towards zero. This combined with all the dollar denominated debt will lead to a much stronger dollar prior to a dollar collapse. This is the only counterargument for lower gold that I've heard of, and it seems extremely risky. He's all over youtube giving talks about his theory, but has yet to profit from it over the last few years (I suspect he makes more by talking about it than by trading it). I'll be checking out some of those stephen videos. I'll try to let you know if I get anything out of it. Thanks for the insight.

Maybe someone can answer this for me. The panel agrees that what we're seeing in the Bond, Equity and R.E. markets are the result of artificially low interest rates, Q.E. and zero reserve lending. How does the inflation in these asset markets eventually make its way into consumer goods? Is it only when they sell/crash?

That was as entertaining as it was illuminating of truth. I adored the comments on the pump and dump Gold exploration companies on the Vancouver and Toronto exchanges. It is so true. In the dot com days a company I co-founded had for a time a VC who temporarily switched from rocks to dots. He bragged from his (near) Bay Street office: “I can create wealth for investors without removing even a single piece of ore from the ground.” (i.e. even if there is no ore.) He was actually proud of this.

You guys give hope and clarity to utter chaos. A reminder just because I know you guys care, another bullish Buffet story to remind people of is that he owns two jewelers, and a couple years ago bought a family jewelry supply business (carries raw metals for sale to public). I think once we see what he added this quarter it will be the biggest story of the year if you look in detail under the hood for the entire picture. Then, the rocket takes off. The wrong people are in the street protesting. Right now, it seems to be folks who are getting free stuff. Instead, it should be the savers who are having their wealth from a lifetime of saving and retirement stolen. With the instability (worldwide), gold is a good place to invest but look out for new taxes on any precious metal related asset that can be tracked.

T K He's too busy doing talk shows. I thought about sending my portfolio in, but I trade between two and twelve stocks per day... So, why have something evaluated that is six months out of date?

I really wish someone would do me a favor and simply ask "What should someone with a 3 or 4 digit net worth do?" because gold is pretty inaccessible for low volume purchasers

4 digit? This is where you don't have any choice but save and focus on making money. You must build the emergency savings first. On the good side is that market will not impact your savings significantly. If you have all the bases taken care of and want to spend few hundred or few thousand on gold, there are small bullions available.

Peter has recommended silver instead of gold for those people.. he has also said its best for those people to just buy and store goods. Food, water, paper etc. because the cost of these goods will be increasing greatly soon.

@@xsw882 Well if i was afraid of outright confiscation of private property I would stock up on guns and ammunition. But realistically if were simply talking about 3 and 4 digit net worths, lile mentioned above I would just use that money now to increase my productivity and skills to earn more money. Precious metals doesnt increase your wealth it used to protect the wealth you have already attained. Unless you want to speculate on gold mining stocks.

Does gold (and silver) fundamental production cost figure into price at all during this bull run? Will massive demand just keep driving it higher, as low oil keeps production costs flat? Should be super bullish for miners (hence the Buffett bet).
