Absolutely correct, and what a good kind of translation it is, indeed. Yes, forget the rhyme (which is of course in the german lyrics), but think about the correct message. And it is the messages which truly kicks in together with the great music. Fun fact: the german national soccer team played this song during the last both maches whenever the german team scored a goal. It was awesome, because the crowds knew the lyrics and sang the song, too.

I love to see somebody who is really experienced in reacting to song to be completely speechless ! Thanks for this face. I love this song for almost 40 years now as it was just new when I was 16 - memories! And currently it is discussed by the German soccer fans that it should by the new goal hymn. I would go for it.

This song is from 1982. And surprisingly a young man with a saxophone brought it back to Germany during the EURO 2024 soccer competition. What a great coup!
