This song makes my heart melt. I feel so much sorrow because I have first heard it in april 2010 a few days after my father has died in his sleep. Two years latter my mother joined him. Their love had the power to transform this world of stone in a very friendly place. I hope their souls left the pain behind and flew back home to Paradise where, as the song pretends, we all come from. O mighty God too much traffic back and forth don't you think? All we can do is just watch, enjoy life and pray until we join the flow. Strange thing called life and conscience. It was supposed to be a gift. We carry and bare them both as we can.
The three- Peter Reber (born 1949, vocals / piano / guitar), Sue Schell (born 1950 in New York, vocals), and Marc Dietrich (born 1948, vocals / guitar) are in Switzerland, even today.
Also der sogenannte "Auchchecker" Song !
This is far the best song ever produced in Switzerland : Peter, Sue and Marc ! Especially Sue was a wondeful singer; she sang really from her hearth. Iit's a pity they retired too soon ! How strange: this awesome song hit at most the sensivity of Rumanian people.
I was born eight years after this song was released and I still love it. It reminds me so much of my childhood, the best part of my life until now. Brings back some sweet memories about people I love and people that love me.
Forget 25 years. Try 69 years. Heard it today for the first time. Used as background music in a video about Rhodesia's security forces. It's beautiful.
My fiance told me that song was played when someone returning home from military mission in Syria. Even when that song was played over and over again all day. Come boys even cry. So good song
My ex husband and my best friend has flied home yesterday... I will never understand why you choose to leave everyone but I hope that the birds of paradise guided you HOME. RIP C 😢
Who are you Who am i? is it real Do we touch the sky? Nothing's real - all disguise Said the birds of paradise. I'm afraid Can't you see Tell me where do you carry me. You will soon realize Said the birds of paradise. Flying home Flying home to the land that you once have known To the peace that once was true for a little girl like you. Flying home Flying home from a world that is made of stone Till your heart is light and free like it once was meant to be. How can i go ahead when my eyes are becoming wet? Save your tears - dry your eyes Said the birds of paradise. But the times passing by Say how long do we have to fly? Moon will set, sun will rise Said the birds of paradise. Flying home Flying home to the land that you once have known . . Flying home Flying home from a world that is made of stone Till your heart is light and free like it once was meant to be. Hear the sound See the light Now i know that our way was right Morning sun can make you wise Said the birds of paradise. Birds of paradise.
Polish Soldiers used to play this song over and over again when they were rotating home from Iraq. like a theme to their lives at the time,as a tribute to those who didnt made it. This song will never sound the same way to me as before
Yeah it is sad song for us. Our Slovak soldiers were returning home when their plane fell down, right before border. Only one survived. They were helping cleaning up mess from war in warzone and helping people who were affected by it. Most sad is that they were so close... Never knew anyone from them, still tears coming to my eyes when I hear this. Many families lost their fathers, husbands, friends, brothers on that day...
@@Gusttafa It was more in reference to the fall of Rhodesia in 1980....for all the young women and children sent out of the country during the climax of the war ... only to find at the end...there was no country to return to. The women and children were the birds of paradise. They were afraid, as they never knew where they would end up all over the world.
