I had food in there I just didn’t feel like making it for some reason. I always bring fresh chicken and eggs with me. I think next time I’ll bring some turkey slices so I can make a quick sandwich.
Love your videos bro . I'm up here in Ohio and have been truckin for 40+ years . I'm 66 years old and probably going to hang it up by the end of the year. Any way I just wanted to say hi and thanks for your videos . Keep em coming !
I appreciate it brother 🙏🏼 It is getting crazy out here as you know and honestly, I cannot wait to stop driving as well. You stay safe out there my friend and happy upcoming retirement to.
Florida just recently passed a left lane linger law, anyone hanging out on the left is subject to a pretty steep ticket from what I read. I don't know how diligent they will be as far as enforcing it?? Be safe out there my brother!!!
I think every state has that law, but nobody’s following it and nobody is enforcing it unfortunately. I think they should start ticketing people for that. Maybe they can make some revenue for the state off of that instead of making all of it off of semi trucks.
I got a ticket 🎟️ dismissed two years ago in Knoxville for being in the left lane. There’s a 35 mile radius on interstate 40 east that you can’t be in the left lane.
If you’re talking about 389 at truckstop that was hit. That guy will need a lot more than bearing. He moved his front axle forward completely when he hit him.. And I saw some coolant leaking under there as well. Or it may be his power steering fluid because he wouldn’t be able to idle his truck if it was coolant.
Yup...Some vendors require 3/4+ fuel in your reefer or they won't let you on the property but that's usually for dropping your trailer. Tyson Foods is one of those vendors that requires 3/4+ fuel in your reefer tank.
The jake brake sounded so cool in Atlanta when you were under the overpass, you can be very proud of your truck and trailer. Very nice, thank you for letting me ride along with you my friend.
I appreciate that buddy. My other truck that I had was way louder than this one. Same engine, but it was straight pipe. This one has a resonator so that it is not too loud.
Believe me, if these motor home drivers had to go by the same rules as we do to drive, they would on those big motor home like that. They would get pissed of they had road side inspections and CDL tests, and they had to do drug test and all that.
Good video Bandit, I feel for the bent up 389 Peterbilt owner getting front end hit and bent up. There are a few companies that do a real lease to own truck, SFI Trucks and Financing part of Snyder trucking which you can work for someone else besides Snyder trucking. And Crete Carrier Corporation has a leasing to own truck as you have to put money down on a truck without balloon payments and a true lease to own like financial bank or company. I know of one guy doing SFI leasing and I even checked into it and seems legit. I even taked with Crete Carrier Corp about there leasing program and seems very similar to SFI lease to own semi truck. I look at the other types of leasing as independent driver 1099, leasing a truck to lease and rent to use. No, I don't own the truck and the company doesn't have to certain payroll stuff or provide company insurance as I pay for my insurance already. But I do make more money then a company driver. Instead of getting .50 cents a mile pay with long hours and burning your hour of service up. You get $1.20 - 1.80 mile double the pay and you have to pay the company back for renting the truck. So you have to pay for private health insurance, truck insurance, license plates, and small maintenance wear and repairs. Yeah the company makes money some where as I know some skim off the top for the company. But I am making double the pay and getting more money in the bank for my miles driven. Do I plan on sticking out my lease term, who knows I have a walk away lease. So make money and trying to setup all my private and future company finical setup. So once I go get my MC and USDOT numbers. Everything will be good to go. I And soon will be looking to take a leap buy a truck and trailer at a fair price and then continue fixed them up on my own truck and trailer. Get them road prepared and ready to go to work for myself in the future. Then continue to pile up some cash to slowly take the leap to owner operator and be under my own carrier MC and USDOT numbers with insurance and all that fun stuff...lol as owner operator and carrier. Already having some direct connections with some companies that are willing to work with me. Watch out for those Amazon drivers they are crazy drivers, almost lost my plastic hood to one Amazon foreign driver. Busted his Amazon ass, BLASTING the air horn and cussing, So take care and keep the rubber on the road.
That’s what I would suggest to you my friend. Best way to do it is get your own MC and be your own boss. If you are already driving and spending time away from your house, why not get the most money possible. I’ve been independent since 2008 and I do everything on my own including IFTA taxes. If there’s any way I can help with any of that stuff please let me know. I would be happy to help another driver become independent. Stay safe out there brother.
Top of the morning to you Mr bandit my friend keep on your trucking my friend ur right some people are afraid of the rain and some idiots just can't drive at all got drivers license from Kmart 😮
Why it called rookie bar? Drive a W9 for someone it has them i never knew what they was for. And yes i drove plenty hoods still do this is 1st truck ive driven with rookie bar and blind spot mirrors
@@OSIRUS-j4r good question. It’s difficult to see the front two corners of the hood. Especially with the air cleaners. The tubes that bolt onto the edge of the bumper show where the corners are. So it looks like the driver is a rookie. They look good too, and I had them on my last extended hood. Extended explanation was for someone reading the comments that don’t know what we’re talking about.
Comme toujours très bonne vidéo. J'adore quand tu t'énerve ! En France aussi il y a un paquet d'abrutis au volant. Faut faire avec !! Bonne route et restez prudent.😊
Thank you very very much my friend. It looks like there are bad drivers all over the world unfortunately. We just gotta be really careful and pay attention to what we are doing. Because a lot of people are driving and not paying attention.
Beautiful Pete. I like your attitude Driver, subscribed. I also always wear seatbelt. I saw a girl get ejected at around 70 mph, buckled up ever since. I was hauling Fuel in the opposite lane, she was in small GMC jimmy type vehicle. Anyways great channel.
I appreciate it brother. Thank you so much. For some reason I cannot drive without seatbelt in my semi truck, but I can drive in a car. I need to start wearing one in my car as well, all the time.
Always load with at least 3/4 fuel on your truck and the same with your reefer, some shipers want you to come in with 1/4 tanks to allow for more frieght use to get paid on the amount of boxes, no more so don't let put more weight your not getting paid for the extra weight. Good luck God bless "geter done"
Thanx buddy for that ride out of Florida, where the idiots can not frikin drive when it starts to sprinkle or its raining. On top of the rubber necking !! So buddy, I'm not telling you what to do, if your getting a little dizziness on occasion, get r done, cook your self some food when out on the road, last thing you want, is having to shut down for a little while, just want you to stay safe out there, the most important thing we have in life is our health, next to family. Yea, figures that some bone head took that pete's hood, bumper practically off, its a shame that it happened. Looking forward to the next adventure with you buddy. Keep 'er between the mayo & mustard. !!
There are bad drivers everywhere but for some reason Florida really stands out. I have fresh food in my truck with me but I just didn’t feel like cooking it this day for some reason. And I think drinking all that chocolate milk was making me not be hungry. That truck was really messed up. he ripped his hood off and moved his entire front axle forward. So it’ll take a lot of money and time to fix that unfortunately.
Just love your color commentary. When the F bombs and other colorful language gets to flying, I know it’s going to be an awesome video. But most of it needs to be said. A lot of crazy drivers out there, and a lot in Florida. But also respect how safe and knowledgeable you are about safety and the do’s and don’ts of driving. Stay safe and keep it between the lines. Yea Buddy. Prrrrrrrrttt
I believe shippers require 3/4 to full tank on reefer only if you’re dropping the empty. At least that’s my experience, not sure where you were picking up at. Anyways, Love your videos man!
Ok Bandit U are a good and safe Driver and give out a lot of good information on your videos to help people and other Drivers ok my Brother, it's Old Happy Jack Waving my Hand 👍💪✌️🚛😀
That's so true about lease operators. There's a company here in Canada named Scotlyn. They do lease to own basically. EVERYONE says the same thing about them, they will cut your miles down so bad when you're close to paying it off that you'll never be able to buy it out. I spoke to this company once. They shine they beautiful Peterbilt 389 and Kenny w900 in your face to attract you, then there's a contract you would have to sign saying you pay this amount of money by weekly towards the truck, based on the truck, and when your lease is up, they give you a choice to buy it out or get a new unit, well you can never buy it out. Long story short, Scotlyn made me an offer to pay 1500 every 2 weeks for 4 years and when the lease was up, all I had to pay was 45000 to buy out the truck. a 2019 Peterbilt 389....for $45000. That was the most suspicious thing I ever heard from a company
I would never suggest leasing to anyone. There’s a reason they are offering leasing. It’s because they make ton of money that was. I just started hearing about Scotlyn recently when I bought my reefer trailer. Seems like they do refrigerated freight allot.
@@OTRBandit I agree 100%. Yea Scotlyn hauls a lot of produce like fruits and vegetables here for Lablaws and major grocery stores. Like you said. It's always best to start with a good quality cheap truck and learn the ropes of owning your own business before you buy shiny! Everyone needs to learn to walk before they can start running.
when your leaven the truck stop (at the 25 min mark) the red truck with the boats on it looked like rooster winch is another youtuber known as Gentry and sons , but im not fully sure if it was them but it sure looked like it
In England it's against the law to hug the middle lane if there's nothing in the other lane law came in two month's ago but people still do it mind bogling 🤠
Wow Bandit, I'm sure glad it wasn't you. I'm watching right now. The title makes it sound like it was you, whew lol. Your fans have your back. I have never met a bad truck driver, I know there are some but I haven't seen one yet,lol 😂 Have a fantastic week. Chat soon. Linda 😊
Bandit I understand that where are you off too next . Life is pretty boring and depressing, I'm glad I ran into your channel . I wish you were closer. Ok be safe, chat later .😅
What I cannot stand is these one million or two million mile drivers of safe driving but yet they come to our plant destroying everything in sight.WTF! Must be related to the wannabe truck driver website
@@OTRBandit if that is the case then take that sticker off your truck. You haven’t earned it. I’ve been driving for 28 years and made mistakes along the way. Nothing major and believe or not I’m learning. Also done heavy haul. Most drivers look both ways to see if someone seen them destroying something so they can just drive away so they can have that million mile sticker for safe driving. I own up. I’m well respected in my company. It’s called the walk shame
That’s the only way to do it and be safe out here. As soon as it starts raining, I slow down. If it starts snowing and it’s really really bad. I will pull over and just hang out until it passes. I am not ready to die for anybody’s load out here.
I’m glad I read those reviews and somebody mentioned that you need to have at least 3/4 full. Otherwise I would have to go back to truckstop and get it filled up.
I hate roundabouts because people don't know how to use their blinkers. They put in three of them right by my house and people just go whatever direction they want without signaling.
gday bandit. thank god it was not your truck m8. drinking all that milk will make you constipated. be carful on the road my friend. its a jungle out there.
Thank God it wasn’t me. I really feel bad for that guy. I think if that was me, I would’ve cried. You are absolutely right about the milk. I shouldn’t have drank that much..
I have fresh food in my truck, but I did not feel like cooking it that day for some reason. or maybe I just wasn’t hungry enough because I was drinking all that chocolate milk that they gave me at the shipper. I stopped at Walmart quite often and get the whole rotisserie chicken. Fresh and delicious.
Thank you so much Teresa. I really appreciate that. But please save your money. You guys have sent me enough for the coffee to last me for a year. Wishing you safe travels on the 10th.
@@OTRBandit I do to show that I'm grateful for our truck drivers cause they go through alot. Your welcome Bandit Yes I do save my money. You would not believe what I do to help family. And you know probably know the rest of the story. God Bless be safe. And keep on trucking and being my friend.
@@teresaterrillWe really appreciate people like you Teresa. Wish everyone respected the drivers like you do my friend. Have a blessed day and thank you very much 🙏🏼
Buddy, I would suggest local and stay local. Especially if you have a family or plan on having a family. This job OTR sucks. I would never recommend it to anyone. I honestly wish I never stepped foot in this freaking thing. It’s up to you in the end my friend but that’s my suggestion to you. Good luck with everything you do and whatever you decide to do.
Yes, Florida drivers are the worst. I'm in Jacksonville, Florida, and it's bad here too. Probably a lot of people from up north, like you said. Our insurance rates are insane here.
Hello my name is Isaac I just started watching your videos and I saw where you were checking your tires with this yellow gadget. I was wondering where did you purchase that from. Other than that I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. I’m still a baby in the game. I’ve only been out here for 3 and half years.
Good afternoon Isaac, That was laser temperature gun. I was checking hub temperature with that thing. You can get them on Amazon or Walmart, Lowe’s, Harbor Freight and stores like that.
14:12 you have to pull in even when you bobtail. Empty or loaded still have to pull in unless you get green light on prepass. I think they can check you fuel to mak shure jts not off road fuel.
They have signs, and you don't, it's an ag station, they only check reefer and ag loads, never seen a bobtail ever get pulled in, but they pull in rvs and campers, was behind 4 of em and two got inspected and I got the thumbs up
I know it’s for agriculture. Everyone has to pull in even rented vans, cargo vans end so so but they don’t have nothing to do with agriculture. Thats why even empty you have to pull in. And I think they have right to check you fuel in tanks just to make sure its not off-road diesel
Lotsa dudes out there pulling big 5th wheel RV's with 3/4 ton pick up trucks that are overweight like crazy. I think they're too stupid to know that if they have a bad accident being over weight the insurance companies prolly won't accept the claim. Then if they cause a fatality they're really fucked. RV dealers don't give a shit, they push these guys out the door just to make the sale. Then ignorance and stupidity of the driver is next.... Peace man, safe travels. I'll buy ya a roller dog at Loves when you get to Wisconsin 🤣🤣🤣
I think if you want to pull an RV, you should be required to have a CDL license. Because a lot of guys out here are doing hotshot with their pick up trucks and gooseneck trailers. And they are required to have a CDL. But the guy pulling up 40 foot RV is not. There is no logic in that.
Fuck that's stupid oh yeah especially in southern Oregon how r u feeling my friend I'm doing pretty good yeah we're going back upto the 100s again joy lol that was funny about the stop sign hell yeah no one can tell u how 2 drive have a good evening my friend bandit
@@OTRBandit your very welcome my friend I'm glad you're feeling much better 2 yeah I'm doing pretty good except for the eating of solid foods still it's still not letting me swallow that much like it before I think that I started on solid foods way 2 early because it seems like it won't go down unless I either drink a little bit of water or mostly if I drink like either Pepsi or coke products that when it goes down but other than that I seem 2 be doing pretty good thank u bandit for asking as well my friend I hope u have a good afternoon your time bye now lol and please drive safe and nice we're currently back under a rear heat advisory because Wed is supposed e be the hottest on record for Oregon this time of year 106 yuck have a good afternoon my friend
I drove a heavy wrecker for near 20 years before driving over the road another 10 before getting a great local job. Retired now. Driving the wrecker I leaned one thing. Rookies aren’t only one that wreck trucks. Over confident douche bags are the ones making the big mistakes and doing the most damage. Karma’s a MFer in the trucking business. You can be king sh*t one day and rolled over in a ditch the next day.
Out of the 12 weeks I worked for super ego I got one check others I owed them money and they always redid my logs so I could drive more very crooked company
I get ya about the RV license. We have these Semi's pulling 40+ foot Rv's and they are on a normal CAR license. Only because. The trailer is not air brakes. If it has Air brakes you then need the CDL. Of course none of the RV's are Air Brakes. Makes NO sense at all. Retired person who has never driven anything bigger than a mini van. Suddenly buy a huge truck and trailer and away they go. Damn its scary. Seen it all too often. Agree with you 100% on that. Our Diesel price here in Canada is over 4.60 USD per gallon now. Will check again today. As they just added another 23% to the Carbon Tax we are now paying. Its a tax we pay on Heating fuel, gasoline, diesel, Propane or anything that emits a Carbon footprint.
I really feel bad for you guys up in Canada. We think that we have it bad down here but I think you guys have it allot worse. It’s very dangerous that they let these RV people drive these things. That RV in my video was a semi truck. It is Freighter Cascadia converted into RV. And grandmother was just chugging down the road at 70 miles an hour in a freaking rain.
How do you know Eagle in Chicago is Serb owned? You Chechnya, Albanian, 🇬🇪 Georgian (Europe version), from Caucas area or Serb yourself? Enjoy your accent. 👍🏻
@@OTRBandit I'm a woman, but you can call me buddy. Bosnian. Awesome 👌 I know the war during 92-95 was bad. I heard you mention something about it, not in detail in one of your other videos. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. Well, Bosnian accent nice. I'm an citizen of America and came here with my family as a kid. My country was over run by communist terrorists. I saw bad too God bless you Bandit. When you mentioned cooking lamb in one of your videos, I got hungry and homesick from my childhood. I have special order my lamb from NZ, the lamb here tastes unusual. I'm happy for you and your wonderful family. Stay blessed. Keep the country music coming, love it... country music is one of the best.
@@WifeofaGoodmanI call everyone buddy, sorry about that. I will be cooking one lamb here in a month or two and will definitely post a video. The way that we cook it, it comes out very delicious. Very tender and delicious. Thank you very much for watching my videos. Wish I could play more music in my videos but RU-vid doesn’t allow it because of copyright issues.
Well, the beginning was filled with a plethora of colorful metaphors in which I though this dude done got heated by someone 😂😂 Then we were in Ga, almost to Atlanta and somehow slid all the way back to Fl 😂😂 Ya know, I just don’t get it, I’ve busted my ass to make this thing work, I made it a personal goal to not damage anything, I am pretty much self taught and close to 3 years in now, I can not for the life of me figure out how stupid stuff like that happens. PS: usually the suggested fuel level is for drop trailers, I’ve never heard them ask about the fuel level on live loads before but there are some real strict policies in some of these places so it doesn’t surprise me any. Just for FYI, you may run across places that have you drop at your door and they pull your trailer out for you, as particular as you are about your stuff I thought it may be good to know.
I move around fast my friend. You are self though just like I am and are probably always careful about everything like I am. But some guys are just not and they have no business being out here driving these things. Sometimes I look at some of these drivers and ask myself. How the heck did they get a CDL. It’s pretty scary sometimes. I’m glad I checked those reviews for this place otherwise I would’ve been sent back to get it filled up. Lesson learned. Always fill up before pick up.
@OTRBandit I live in Tampa area it's great, plus the taxs here are good. But I here the loads that leave florida don't pay shit. Knowing your personality you would fit right in. Just watch for the idiots on florida roads. It's bad
I've been through those Florida scales hundreds of times on I75 or I95 etc, empty trailer, cocksu*kers put me on the scale side and set u their about a minute and send u on. I'm Empty. They knew that. 34 yrs never been DOT in Florida. Most been in OK, WY, and OH, NM. so far never in CA. interesting. Be good bro. Ron
