IN THIS VIDEO WE REMOVE THE LIFT AXLE FOM THE OTHER TRUCK. WE HAVE NAMED THE OTHER TRUCK "SOUP SANDWICH"....WHAT A MESS. AS WE REMOVE THE LIFT AXLE A WELD ACTUALLY FALLS OFF THE TRUCK! WE THEN TEAR THE AXLE APART TO INPSECT ITS CONDITION. JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE ON THESE TRUCKS, IT IS WORN OUT, IMPROPERLY REPAIRED OR NEGLECTED. SO TIRED OF THIS JUNK....WE JUST WANT TO QUIT. I GET ALL THE PARTS ORDERED. THEN WE MOVE ON TO TIRES. IT GETS 8 NEW DRIVE TIRES. WE INSTALL THEM ON THE DAYTON HUBS AND CENTER THEM. SET THE RIDE HEIGHT AND START TO GET HTE DRIVESHAFT INSTALLED.....BUT WAIT! THERE IS MORE! THE DRIVE SHAFT YOKE IS WORN OUT AND HAS NO THREADS IN TWO OF THE BEARING CAP RETAINER BOLT HOLES! PERFECT!! ANOTHER DELAY AND MORE MONEY!
SO CLOSE. YET SO FAR....

Thank you for showing how difficult it is to properly stretch out a frame and replace all the worn parts. It is also nice to see you have sown how bad other individuals shortcut and butcher a frame job. That is one of the worst frames I've ever seen that you took the drop axle off of. Please keep making these videos.

I am amazed at every project you build. Your like a modern day Dr. Frankenstein. You take rusty, worn out, and broken parts that no one would look at twice and assemble them into useful, working trucks. It shows that with a lifetime of knowledge, money and drive anything can be accomplished.

Here in the UK we call that sort of welding "Pigeon Shit" lol. The worst welding I've ever seen on a vehicle of any sort! That bearing pre load was far too tight. There is something wrong with that spacer. Maybe the idiot who did the work ground a bit off of it lol I'd check manufacturers of hubs specs for the spacer dimensions. Personally I would have changed the hub bearings but, hey I used to love spending customers money lol Your explanation of the prop shaft geometry was absolutely excellent. I just discovered this series so i havent watched all the videos. When stretching a truck frame the steering arms usually need to be changed to give proper steering geometry. The arm on the spindle that the drag link and the tie rod ends attach to. The reason is if they are not the right arms for the frame length the steering tires will not be in sync and will fight each other.

Hello, I need help please, Someone install steerable drop axle on my truck. When I test ride, the drop axle keeps turning right and makes the ride unstable. What can be the problem?
