Not our best row, so the time flatters us a little... We spent a reasonable amount of the race down on our port (stroke) side. At risk of sounding like an advert, the GoPro Horizon Lock makes that easy to check - look at the saxboard on each side of the boat and ask yourself, "Is the left higher than the right?".
In terms of personal mistakes, I'm pretty sure I barely touched the water on one of the strokes during the start, which again I would have said wasn't usually something I'd do, and at one point I misinterpreted one of the cox's calls as a request for a higher rating, so I started to anticipate that, but it didn't happen. I haven't re-watched the video through to work out when that happened though, or to figure out if it affected the race!
I'm a bit suspicious about the heart-rate readings - I find it difficult to believe that my heart rate took thirty seconds to climb a little less than 10 bpm, then dropped through the rest of the race, ending up lower as we crossed the finish than it was at the start. Having dropped to 95 bpm just after we crossed the finish line, it then rose over the course of the next minute to a higher value (114 bpm) than I supposedly reached at any point during the race! I didn't get to see if that increase continued while we waited to dock, as I'd remembered to stop the watch by then.
Samsung Health on my watch doesn't work with Bluetooth heart-rate monitors, so I can't use my Polar H7 with chest strap to get a more reliable reading; I certainly didn't feel fresh and ready to race by the time we crossed the line!
Anyway, all credit to our St Neots opponents, as they beat us off the start, pulled away, held us off when we started to move back on them, then sped off into the distance...
Still, the two races this weekend were our first regattas of the season, so hopefully there's more to come from us. Maybe the next set of videos will be wins, rather than a second place today and a fourth place yesterday?
