I got saved in 1983 and I walked into a Christian book store and I asked them for a Christian rock cassette and they sold me Petra, “Not of this World”. From there they have been a blessing to me. I still love them at 53 years old in 2018. Praise God for Petra!
Slaterguy That was the first Christian album my parents ever owned. Although neither they nor I are Christians anymore, it still holds up (although some of the choruses are a little silly). I just listened to it on the way home from work the other day and quite enjoyed it- especially the little bass and bongo break in “Blinded Eyes.”
I played this song for my kids in the car. The said 'woah! THAT was Christian music in the 90's? I love this there's actually a guitar in it, how come none of it sounds like that today? '. Too true kids, too true... We've been listening to petra in the car for a week straight.
No matter when you listen to them, Petra is always cool, talented, headbangers for Christ! I began listening to them back in the late 80s before the Lord saved me using their music; songs like More Power To Ya, Angell of Light, and Judas Kiss. i'd come from head banging, hard and acid rock back ground so they really appealed to me. I still think their awesome and I still get excited when I hear their songs! Thank you God for using Petra to bring me into Your kingdom!
I wasn't even alive when this was recorded, I love Petra, this band is better than than so many of its modern day counter parts, all time favorite band!!

When me and my twin sister were like 5 years old we climb the bookshelf and turned this song on full blast at 5am in the morning we lived in this complex house it's a split house. The walls were so thin. My mom and dad ran down stairs turned it off. Before they did that me and my twin were jammin out at 5 years old.

I first heard this song in 1992 when I got the tape for my birthday. To this day, Petra is my favorite Christian band of all time. Only Skillet rocks as hard as Petra!
awesome song, love it , I remember i got a copy of the beyond believe album when i was a kid, it rocked then, an still do. I think this band came heaven sent in a time ACDC ruled .
It was amazing to see John at a local church in Farmington,Minnesota. It was a small venue with around 50 people! He still has it! God has truly blessed him!
Great song! Outstanding playing by the band and singing by John Schlitt. Not everyone may understand what the non-Petra scenes are about, if they haven't seen the full Beyond Belief video, but it's still enjoyable even without that backdrop.

I thought that was pretty cool too, I think they're more in Charleston in the video though, but Coos Bay and North Bend are big ol' metropolises of the area.

The late 80s -mid 90s there were some killer christian bands. I met Petra 93 ish when i was early in highschool and they played are church which had just built a new giant sanctuary and i was on the stage crew all of these guys were so cool , unlike some other "Christian" artist whom were jackasses i spent an hour chewing johns ear about recording and the days before he was in Petra. Super cool dude
