It’s very interesting to see my sister’s love connection video get so much activity after all these years. I had friends tell me they watched her video when it aired late night syndication and now via RU-vid. FYI to all the commenters, she did not have a long relationship with Micheal. She met and married a great guy from Pasedena, CA.
"Seem like 2 nice shy people having a fun time! I like how they both did something they never tried, Para-sailing! It gave them something in common and experience together!"
Chuck Woolery a guy I felt very bad svd sorry for him he lost his son in a horrible motorcycle accident poor Chad it's every parents worst nightmare when the parents outlive their child
During the taping of the shows that I was in the audience for, all the crew went on a 20-minute break. Chuck stood up walked to the edge of the stage area and spent his whole break answering any personal questions that the audience had for him. He seemed a very humble nice person that obviously appreciated the position that he had.
This was dating back in the 80s. People dressed appropriately and were polite and kind to one another. People had self-respect and respect for others back then.
People talked to each other back then and did not stare at their phones. I saw a young couple walking down the street yesterday, the girl could be seen talking and staring at the guy and the baby as they held hands ( I was at a red light). The guy was just nodding ( bobbin his head up & down at his cell phone the entire time) 😲😱😕
This is one of my favorite episodes. I grew up in Fayetteville as well. I graduated from Pine Forest Sr High. I was living in San Diego from 86 to 98, when this likely aired. Looks like the algorithm steered me right today....I've been on a mini-marathon since the first RU-vid recommendation.. Best wishes to you. Hope you have had a great life up till now. You seem like a sweet person, Petra.
petra is absolutely adorable. loved watching this segment. brings back memories of when I was a kid and I used to watch this show all the time. thanks for uploading!
I grew up dating back then, we wore the nice dresses and the guys the dress pants and dress shirts. I married my hubby back in 1997, we went to HS together, I was 26, he was 28, we’ve been married 21 years as of last April with 2 grown kids. Dating was so different back then, I would NOT want to date now!!!
It's cool that Petra got two appearances on "Love Connection" 💝. Loved the throwback fashions ... re her perm, red dress, ivory stockings & pumps - too cute! 🥰 Chuck reminds me of Elvis - 💋
This was adorable. Petra, your Grandma gave you everything you needed to know! You were beautiful then, and gorgeous in your RU-vid picture! You obviously have great genetics. :)
Remember all the weird colours? Remember L’Eggs? They were fun. Nobody really wears hosiery anymore. I guess they were kind of uncomfortable. And what a pain if you got a run. Sometimes clear nail polish would hold it.
@@mjrussell414 i wore all kinds of colors back in my 20's. Suntan, white, black, navy, and even mushroom. I wore a pair of gross green my Sr year of HS! I still wear hose today. Black or nude are the only colors I wear anymore now.
Me too, I love seeing the hair from back then. Men and women's hairstyles change just like fashion. I also loved blind date, which I've seen on RU-vid but I haven't looked for shipmates, or the fifth wheel. I don't know if you remember those shows?
I agree, when he talked about how his second toe was longer than his big toe, I died. I remember having that conversation a few different times in the early '90s. I always heard that your second toe is supposed to be longer than your first. Mine is not. So I've been self-conscious of that ever since .
@@VioletJoy 😂 I will try to overcome it 😂 violet, haven't we bumped into each other before on youtube? I remember seeing the name Violet but perhaps it wasn't violent joy. Anyway, I hope you're well ️
Wow all I have to do is hear her sultry voice and that would do it for me. One of the best women I've seen on love connection. Just love that personality and that voice the face of a doll.
Patra came out all dressed proper with the long dress and just blow me away . I'm sitting here in 2017 like why don't women dress like that these days .
Always listen to dating advice from your grandma. She is such a cutie pie - then and now. Geez, there really wasn’t much competition - Micheal was the only nice and normal sounding guy. If a dog really hates you, that’s a bad sign. It’s good to be picky with people you date.
Mike is adorable! Hope he found love. FYI - most of the nerds, who got no girls in highschool turned out to be high achievers and married well and once. I love happy endings.
Petra reminds me of a cross between Elizabeth Perkins in the movie Big and Kimberly Williams in Father of the Bride. That's marriage material right there
What a sweet girl. Our girls in the South took great pride in being ladies and marrying well. I have no clue what is happening now. Crazy. GenX and we had it pretty good.
Obviously she got married. I looked up her Facebook and she graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington. As of this post they are still cleaning up after Hurricane Florence. Praying and giving that she is okay
Men and women from the 1980's looked and acted so much older than they really were. I suppose that can be a good thing and a not-so-good thing. But seriously, if they were 21 they looked 32-33, at least.
Oh for sure!! 80s was my time! Petra was my type of girl down to the shoes. Funny thing is I dressed like Michael, but you would have gotten a very handsome Spaniards who was actually a geek inside, and highly confident. Hope Petra and the guy got married.
Gen X generally were raised by single parents and had to grow up fast to be independent. Holding jobs while going to college. Stress and anxiety is one of the main factors.
Ahhh NIICE..I Do REMEMBER this One Barely..I Was attending L.A. Valleybat COLLEGE and Then back to UCLA..I Wanna Say this was In 1990..Just Cant Remember what MONTH..I Used to Set the VCR ( Remember those Kids Ahah ) and Would watch it After Work/Homework Every Nite..That Means Petra is 51 NOW..I'm 54😁👌👍✌
I loved watching this again I remember when it was the show. My Mom and I loved watching and laughing at most of the creepy men. She had a nice guy. As she should have. As the show matured you could tell towards the end that there was some definite fake story lines. This was when it was still a sweet show.
I’ve dated my age, and some 15 or so years older and I’ve never been on a date with a man that wore a suit. I watch shows like Sex and the City where Big wore a suit everyday, and I’m like, where are these guys at? Haha
Wow Petra, you were like the singer Laura Branigan's twin back then! Beautiful! What year is this from? Based on the set it must be between '89 and '94. Did you guys keep going out?
that Andrea Elson sweet perm hair was so hot it made teenage girl look way older but well i was in love with the girl in ALF so that hair should be back
@@TanTanWaWa Funny you should mention pantyhose. I used to wear hose back then like that too. Its what women did! That was the style. I still wear hose today. Not that color though anymore.
Your sister, so young here. How old is she now? She seems like such a nice girl and sweet demeanor. Where did she meet her husband? Hope she is doing well.
Just found out recently that love connection really wanted to stir up drama, and encouraged contestants to speak badly about each other. They even lied to them in advance and told them their dates were about to say something negative. Kudos to both of them for not falling for this, and being absolutely adorable.
