I have the 949x one of my favorite knives. Love the micarta, the look of the blade, and it came super sharp. Only thing it takes about a month for shipping.
Just ordered the carbon fiber x version from WMK using discount code LTK. Received it today and am very impressed with the quality of this little knife. It's definitely worth it.
Woah the CF 949 might be my next knife! Kind of a ZT 0460 look to it but not as Persian with it's style. My PF 818 has been my workhorse for the last 6 months at least and it's been great. The D2 is definitely D2 or china equivalent, rusted a bit when I didn't oil it for a few months. Little polish and she's good as new! Haven't had to reprofile the edge, just a quick touch up here and there and good to go. Great action also, they may be petrified but there is nothing fishy about these knives!
I'd like all of these with a full flat grind. What is the facination with leaving the spine full width at the spine? It detracts in a big way from completing a cut through stuff like onions, potatoes, salami, and lunch /meal time items. I'd prefer a slicer to a wedgy hatchet blade grind.
More strength? Not everyone uses their pocket knives primarily for food. And there are plenty of real slicers out there you could buy if you want that. I wonder if you would like the Civivi Praxis?
You used the Beluga for comparison... why isn't my blue Beluga as nice as yours??? It's a beautiful shade of blue. Mine's kinda dull & smooth, like someone was running around the factory with it before it got shipped 😅
