This is the Peugeot 2008 crossover and it goes up against rivals such as the Citroen Cactus and Ford EcoSport. Our test car is powered by a new 110bhp 1.2 litre three cylinder engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission. Peugeot claim over 58 MPG combined.
In top specification, this Peugeot 2008 featured dual zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, half leather seats, and a glass panoramic roof.
Grip control offers some off road ability to this front wheel drive compact SUV.
You can have a Peugeot 2008 from £13,345 for an entry level car.

I drove a 2014 'Feline Calima' version of this a little while ago with the 1.6 hdi engine and it was the first 'new' Peugeot i've driven in quite a while (i get to drive a few different cars at work) that i thought drove really well! It felt like they'd made a bit of effort with the way the car drives and the interior which was high specced and quite stylish, much better car than i was expecting!

+Matt Crick Yeah, 2008 in general is a nice little car.

I recently bought a 110 puretech manual 1.2 L allure business ! I'm in love with it.

+xCUBITUSx Manual was defiantly the right choice. Like I said, it is a great car, but how you spec it makes a big difference.

The 2008 Is one of my favourite Peugeot Models and I also the New GT version that was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show

I really like your reviews but you're wrong on 2008 gearbox. There is an "S" button, which stands for Sport Mode and actually prolongs every gear if you want more power. And it is even response much faster then the default mode. So I think you just didn't dig deep enough. It is really good gearbox. Still really like your channel.

I am aware of the S button, but how many people would think to press that in the fuss of trying to get out of a junction at a resectable pace? Glad you like the channel.

Debating between one of these and the 208 1.2 allure, definitely goingt to have to take them for a test drive in the next couple of months, interestingly this is slightly cheaper on fuel and go...

I'm really surprise by what you're saying on the gearbox. Every single review have seen say that it's really good. And looking at the performance number, it's just as fast as the 5 speed manual.
@insidelane

+dufonrafal I found it a bit frustrating that it wouldn't hold on to a gear, especially as the power from this small petrol is at the top of the Rev range.

+Inside Lane ok, when was it changing gear? (I'm actually interesting in the car and an automatic gearbox is mandatory).
@insidelane
@insidelane 8 лет назад
+dufonrafal It was changing a bit short when you put your foot down to overtake for example. I just felt that some competitors do a better job with responsiveness. Would you consider diesel? Ultimately the best answer, and I encourage everyone to do it, is to take a good lengthy test drive. That way you will know if it meets your standards. Other than the gearbox, I like the 2008 and think it is a good car.

+Inside Lane there isn't any automatic 2008 diesel. And no I would not consider diesel anyway. But I've been looking at other video on that subject. And the gearbox seems to change gear late enough. Up to 6000rpm (the peak power is at 5500). Like you say, I will do a test drive if it's on my very short list ;)

Thanks for the review. I am however unclear about what auto gearbox you are referring to. Was it the old one, or the new Eat6 gearbox which has excellent reviews elsewhere? As others have commented, there is no auto option for diesel.

as far as i know the "00" peugeot models are pronounced as double, like "two double 0 eight"/ "three double 0 eight."
@insidelane
@insidelane 8 лет назад
+Brooklyn Broularre No, that are not, but there is an interesting story there. Back when the 1007 came out years ago they did name it "double 0" however the creators of James Bond took legal action to prevent it. Hence why this series of cars is pronounced as thousand.
