Hello dear viewers! In today's video I will show you how to replace a speed sensor for a Peugeot 206 1.4HDI. This should also apply to other PSA Group Cars with 1.4 HDI engine and Ford cars with 1.4 TDCI Engine.
This sensor is also used in some Fiat and Lancia Cars.

When I takeout the sensor, oil comin out fron the hole, was that trnasmission oil? Did i put to much transmission oil?

yes, that is transmission oil. Probably what hapens is that you have the speed sensor lower than the filling hole for oil in the gearbox. If a lot of oil dripped out than you need to refill the gearbox with the exact amount that dripped out. If quantity that dripped out is very small (just a few mililiters) than don't worry about it.

Hello there, I have a 5 speed manual 1.4 hdi Peugeot 206, I have code P0500 (Speed sensor A) and U0121 (Lost communication with ABS module), also the VSS stays at 10 kmh, I checked the speed sensor, but instead of the speed sensor I found a cover, the speed sensor has worked before btw, by any chance could the speed sensor be in a different position? Edit: the specific version of my 206 is a xsline from 2006.

Thank you for the comment. I would say that your speed sensor could be integrated inside the gearbox if it isn't in the same position as in my video. You can also try to remove the cover which you are talking about and see if it is a different design or, as I said, it might be in the gearbox.

@@AlexAndreiZARit’s most likely in the gearbox, because I cant feel any gears in the position of your video, but I could be wrong, I’ll try to take a look, but the connector (3 pin) seems to be disconnected, and it cant reach the cover.

@shadexx4563 it would seem so... yes... taking off the gearbox and check inside. Check for wires ... they will tell you where the sensor is.

Hi! Thanks for watching the video. As far as I remember, the owner said that the car lost and gained power intermittently, the doors where locking and unlocking while driving again intermittently. Speedo readings were eratical and from time to time it didn't show the speed at all. Abs system error was also present.

@@AlexAndreiZAR I also have this issue, my speedometer does not work at all, I have the abs and brake/e-brake lights on, but abs seems to work, although the abs seems to do it’s job, since the wheels don’t lock up.
