It does this because there is a leak in pressure or oil.... basically needs another gearbox or my friend did say you can try some mastic on the clutch actuator.
I have a ds5 same box and engine as 3008 1.6 HDi...It had all the warning lights show, not starting , auto brake fault, staying in neutral..I cleaned the above battery fuse box, checked continuity and fuses..I then changed the car battery and hey presto it all worked, warning lights went off, gears worked etc..I drove the car 10 miles then it started failing in auto then went into manual selection with out me moving the gear lever. I have a diagbox, faults are clutch position sensor and abs, esp..Weird thing is the diagbox successfully changes gears and works cluctch ok..Codes are P1755, U2000, U1213, U0415
I have a 2006 Citroen C5 model 2.0 16v (AL4) automatic transmission vehicle. I get transmission failure when it rains. I am getting error U1003-0103 in OBD data In addition, the vehicle changes gears on its own while driving on the road. When the rain stops, my car returns to normal. Errors cleared I think part of my car is getting water and the problem persists until this water dries up. What is the faulty part? Help me! please
I fixed one recently and it turned out it was the Electronic slave cylinder went bad and jammed therefore car wasnt going into or out of gears and jamming in gears. The slave cylinder bearing was also bad, and these cars take a certain fluid for the actuator as u will see the reservoir on the gearbox . Most people just put normal gearbox oil in which had been the case with the one I fixed but its hydraulic actuator fluid u need etc. These gearboxes are so problematic. Only 60k miles on it too! New clutch & flywheel kit, new electronic slave cylinder and fresh hydraulic actuator fluid! ££££££
@@suspect3573 I got the full clutch kit, dual mass flywheel and electronic slave cylinder for £400 which was very cheap and it was Valeo which were factory parts. While I was there I got the hydraulic actuator fluid which is supposed to be what goes into the gearbox actuator reservoir from start but most people put normal gearbox oil which is bad for the actuator as its not correct fluid. Ravenol GHA-F is the correct fluid for these gearboxes and costs around £15 per litre. Then new gearbox oil itself for actual gearbox mate. Labour didn't cost me nothing as I work on them but u wouldn't be talking a cheap fix. Places probably quote almost £1k or over
@groutness9052 id say get it put on to diagnostic computer and see if anything comes up but ur problem sounds more like some sort of electrical gremlin mate. Could possibly be the mechatronics (electrical brain of gearbox that tells which gear etc) .. are there any other symptoms? Car overeving or gears sticking or anything?
My 3008 semi auto when in auto mode some times changes to m for a split second like today i was in a3 gear and the a changed to a m then back any idea ?
Wish I saw this video before getting on of these second hand 2011 plate. Having exact same issue, but sometimes car runs just fine, with smooth gear changes. Any thoughts as to what this could be
Hi Sandy, good video, but what happened to 'Part 3'!!! You left us high and dry man! What was the solution, where was the gearbox speed sensor (I suspect at the other end of the engine, driven by water pump belt?). My problem is, I can't get our vehicle (2014 Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDi semi-auto) out of economy mode, so I can't get my Otofix D1 Lite to communicate with the ECU to go through the 'Gearbox Learning program'. Any ideas how to force the car out of 'Economy Mode'? I know there is a switch on the lower dashboard by your knee, but that does nothing, it just remains in economy mode!!! Please advise, is the a way to bypass the eco mode to allow me to reprogram the gearbox??? Thanks, keep up the good work.
Eco mode is just when the battery is low .. like if you've had radio on without the engine being on .. the eco button is just for stop start which normally never works 😅
Got a 3008 diesel auto 2011 . . . Gear selection probs . . . In auto occasionall will not engage, put it in semi, waggle gear stic a few times and it engages and after that no problems, in either mode changes perfectly, but gradually the problem increases week by week . . . Any suggestions

I went today to inspect a car that I want to buy. The gearbox is jerks when I accelerate or reverse the first and second shifts specially when I remove my foot from the paddle.. Feel it more in traffic.. It's like big hit in the middle of the car... Is that normal for EGS gearbox? Is it programming or is it something major.. Should I buy or not? I really appreciate the answers.
since you have hydraulic pressure present it means engine is turning the shaft isn't? Scope the sensor output to computer if you have good signal throw a computer in it.
Ahaa. looks this is something different. I thought that was a normal car with automatic gearbox. my apologies Sandy What were you trying to do when depressurizing the hydraulic circuit??
