I have use a oil vacuum extractor which you put down the dip stick hole, I have had it for 13 years and it's the best thing I have ever brought for doing your own oil changes.
@@PackTheVanAndGo Not really. I just stick in the dip stick hole first then do other things like changing the air filter etc or I just walk away make a cup of tea and when I return it's all done, No laying on the floor, no mess, no removing the drain plug.
I decided to my own VW T6 service in March and used one of those 12v oil pumps from Lidl. The small tube going into the oil filler pipe came out at one point and I had oil going everywhere. Few sweary words voiced that point . Managed to clean it up eventually. You're saving a packet doing it yourself though...and you know everything is getting done the way it should be. Loved seeing Archie grabbing the box. Welcome back to Scotland when you come.
@@PackTheVanAndGo I am well thanks. We’ve met a few times over the years and fondly remember Archie in the bar at Willowfields being his cheeky self lol. Just started recording a bit for RU-vid - harder than it looks. Stay well.
We love the new mic! So much better..improves massive your sound quality when there is wind and other disgusting noises in the background! Well you know, there is a saying in germany "Just who do nothing, does nothing wrong" ..and to cheer you up - that would has happen to us as well, we bet 😃 (btw. we never done a oilchange by ourself) Good to see you both ❤ stay smart, kind, funny and sexy as you are boys! 😄Lots of hugs
🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ we definitely have those times when you think fuck it 🤣 clear up start again another day ! Can’t wait for the winter adventures to see all the improvements you have made 🙌🏻
I am just planning some new adventures i haven't done before in Scotland! So hoping they will be enjoyable to watch! And hope all the improvements work in the dead of winter!
@@campervanchris4171 Not yet mate, I keep my eye on the videos of the mini and the 12v set up, I have my good old Netgear M1 and EE, but next year might go starlink 😉
I saw the crack on the container from the camera angle on the floor and there's nothing worse than watching it and not been able to tell you its about to start seeping through haha. Looking forward to the vid after the next. I'll be in Scotland the first week in December, in the car not the van, but if your up there and near then we'll have to meet up. Missing Archie haha. I'll give you a shout closer to the time. Take care buddy
Yeah, can’t believe I never saw the hole at any time, until it all came out! These things happen hey mate. Yeah give me a shout near Xmas and I’ll see where you’re at mate
Did the same thing a few months ago with my van , a nice new pink plastic bin , didn’t see the wee hole in each corner ! Funny , I used the same words as you , never mind , shit happens
Oh man, that is sooo painful to watch. FFS buddy 😩 Can’t remember the last time I heard you blaspheme 😂 Years ago, I used too small a container and something similar happened. Not fun😬 Every days a school day Rob👍. BTW, I no longer feel guilty about having the local garage change our vans oil/filters recently. Had forgotten how much of a PIA doing that is. Well done for preserving 💪👏👌
Hi mate, yeah I don't swear this much normally on camera for sure! But definitely every day is a school day for sure, will learn this lesson and never do it again 😂 Hope you're well mate?
@@PackTheVanAndGo all good buddy, thanks. Van’s looking mint and nice to see you building your confidence and learning new skills 👏👏 We’re off to the group meet up tomorrow, and it’s going to be dry weather👍👌😀 Archie’s looking well and happy as a pongo, under a bivvy with that cardboard box 😂😂👍
Oh dear that’s a daft thing, the whole in the oil collector thing 🤔.I’d just like to take this opportunity to recommend another ex-serviceman’s vanlife youtube channel SASvANCH vanlife another very pleasant chap.reminds me he’s a bit like yourself.well done on everything your doing.👍
Yeah I made a right mess of the oil change, didn't even notice the hole staring right at me... thankfully a trip to the campsite to relax made all the difference! Hope you're well mate?
It's good to see that you had the water pump changed because as they age, they won't stand up to the colder starting temperatures pumping very cold water around. Well oil be dammed Rob, what a mess with that container but you got it sorted. Still worth doing it yourself with the price of garage labour now.
The vans had some good work done to it the past few months, and now with a full service, water pump, timing belt and new alternator.. the van is ready for another long winter in Scotland! Totally worth doing yourself than pay those prices for sure! Hope you're well mate?
