I own one these. I struggled with cornering until I learned what countersteering was and I practiced it. Even at motorway speeds I can now get my Metropolis to go exactly where I want when cornering, with zero effort. I love my Metropolis!
Have you had the chance to ride these types of scooters(Tricity, MP3, etc) in the wet/cold or otherwise poor conditions? If you did, would you say you can ride them faster and more confidently than regular motorcycles? Thanks.
These trikes aren't intended to compete with m/cycles. They're a different riding experience, and though less manoeuvrable in tight traffic conditions, and a wide turning circle, they have superb road handling and are great fun to ride. In the UK they can be ridden with or without a crash helmet. Something which is the envy of 2 wheel riders who sometimes act up when they see these.
I notice on the dash that the km/L was 5.7L/100 km, that's higher than my Renault Scenic! I like it very much, but to buy it at 9400 euros and be putting all that fuel in it awsell. I would stick with my car.
Hi BenalRida, did you find out why it stop while engine idle? And do you notice any problem to start the engine on this Peugeot Metropolis or what other problem exists? I'm thinking of getting either Tricity or Metropolis. Thank you in advance.
Hello, I am not sure what you mean?!? I had the ignition on and engine off to explain the display and then it constantly turned off after a few seconds even while pressing buttons. Is that what you mean? Some owner said there is a trick to it to avoid that by pressing on the ignition key like 5 times in a row. Don't know if that actually works.
@@BenalRida Thanks for your reply, you understand me correctly. Hope the engine won't OFF easily when it stops at red traffic lights. I really love the design of Metropolis and am looking for to get it here in Singapore. Thanks alot. Cheers.
Piaggio Group announced that it won two separate European lawsuits it filed against Peugeot Motocycles. Both the Tribunal Judiciaire in Paris, France, and the Court of Milan in Italy found Peugeot guilty of infringing on a European patent related to the Piaggio MP3’s particular three-wheeler technology. In specific, Piaggio says, it relates to the leaning technology used by the MP3 to allow it to tilt going around corners, much like motorcycles and scooters do. For those unfamiliar, these rulings directly relate to the Peugeot Metropolis three-wheeled vehicle, which Peugeot has primarily sold in European markets since its introduction. What’s the sentence? In France, Peugeot must pay damages of 1,500,000 Euros to the Piaggio Group, on top of additional infringement and legal expense-related penalties. Additionally, the French court ruling effectively states that Peugeot must immediately cease production, sales, possession, importing, and exporting of any vehicles that make use of the infringing technology. If Peugeot does not comply, the company must pay a fine for each and every “counterfeit vehicle,” in Piaggio’s terms.
@@Hope2421 They don't apply at all. Peugeot filled an appeal, which it seems it wasn't ruled yet, by any court. Until then, production and sales of the Metropolis, legally continue. What this dude says is from September 2021. Since then nothing noticeably happened, and Metropolis is still produced and sold. In fact, the Piaggio bullying started in 2015. They filed lawsuits for 5 patents. They lost on two, other two patents were rejected, and they cling on the last one, referring to the suspension locking system. Anyone with some common sense and little technical knowledge would notice there are two different systems once it looks at the schematics of the Metropolis and MP3 front suspension. So, I guess this dispute is already settled or about to be settled. Anyway, the 2021 Milan court decision smells like shit, just from the word choice. They named Peugeot Metropolis as ”counterfeit vehicles” which is abusive and illegal. As anybody knows counterfeit means an knock off trying to exact copy the original stuff, and being sold as the original. The use of this word, in this case sentence, issued by that Milan Commerce Court, is simply a felony, and should have determined the appeal court to abolish the sentence, instantly. If for the Italian court, such kind of decisions are not so surprisingly as Italy is still mafia country, I wonder how could the French court reach a quite similar conclusion.
Hello, ah okay, I understand. Personally I would choose the Yamaha TriCity 300, also because of the storage space underneath the seat. Have you ever considered the TricCity?
I have the 2015 Metropolis 400i. Engine had to be revised which cost me 2500,- 2 months ago The left wheel broke off during a ride. I was going about 45 km/h so not harmed. Peugeot is not safe . SOrry. But dont buy it
Poor, complicated and expensive solution to access the under seat storage. This cause the use of an aftermarket much better top case, quite impossible. This certainly is a no-no reason for potential buyers.
im sorry i mean Trikes 3 wheel scooters i had tried out a 2020 Yamaha tricity 300 i also tried a honda forza 300 i felt a bit more safe on the yamaha 300 but at the end i bought a 2020 Honda Forza 300 i got at a good price about one month ago because the new 2021 Honda Forza 350 came out .
