Watching your fantastic restorations takes me back to the mid 80’s riding all those fun rides on the weekends and training rides for the Argus Tour. You doing such a great job on all those classics got me motivated to restore my old Hansom which I brought over with me to the UK many years ago. I am planning on doing it this next summer.
Those were great times in SA cycling 🙌🏼 Glad to hear you’re drawing motivation from my videos, that Hansom deserves a second chance at a fresh life 😁👍🏼
Wonderful. Growing up in SA in the 90’s I had a metallic blue Peugeot Rapport, that I bought from my cousin. I loved that bike. It rode nice and smooth (steel frame) and was my daily transport to school, and everywhere else. Also used it as my introduction to racing. Mine had Suntour 7 components. It was a solid bike that when tuned up correctly shifted and rode very well. I must have put a few thousand miles on mine. Thank you for this video.
I recently got a Peugeot Optimum. I believe it's quite a similar spec/range in Peugeot lines. Cant seem to find much info on them at all. Has a lovely purple paint job and is such a nice ride
Thank you Neil. I used Autosol polish on the rims and any lithium based grease will work on bearings etc. For jockey wheels I always use a light 3-in-1 oil, never grease.
just found these guys i think from Czech Republic you might be interested in. Apols if you're already aware. They've got some cracking stuff on their channel.
I have never seen such a ugly crankset. Very bad quality. I am not sure i was worth to restore this bike considering tubes... but this is a very good job.
Those cranks aren’t the prettiest but they have proven to be very durable over the years so their quality can’t be too bad 😁 Thanks for the support and compliment, I appreciate the feedback 🙏🏼👍🏼
