white poofies Kreygasm real talk though i learned a couple things from these videos. although i play falco i think you've given me some new tools to work with and a better understanding of how Marth as a character functions. I've always found him to be a difficult character to control and I've got a lot of respect for the level of your execution. peace

I've actually been doing this in PM a lot with Ganon and Falcon. I would ledge hop, poofy cancel, then jab, grab, f smash, etc. That's cool how I started using something before I knew it was a thing.

The only reason I know about this is because silentspectre would always do the backwards jump poofy cancel on yoshis and I always thought it looked so smooth.

Hi Kevin, Thank you so much for these videos. They are very helpful. I have realized that a huge part of optimally executing attacks is the ability to reset your character to neutral in various scenarios quickly and in different ways. I'm wondering, does Marth have any aerial interrupts, or something of the sort that would enhance movement?

Normal landing lag (no attack) is 4 frames, not 3, i think.

In Kadano's video it says the exceptions are Pichu, DK, Ganon, and Bowser. So marth landing lag should be 4.

+Bomboy I think the way it works is that the character never actually lands, he/she goes from above the platform one frame and below it the next while moving down, so the character becomes grounded without landing

You only land with lag if your character is moving downwards. If you can land while moving upwards, you don't get lag. But how do you land while going upwards? Some animations like that of Falcon's backwards jump make his collision box move up then down, and the downward movement can happen even while the character is moving upwards, and if the game detects that the collision moved downwards, it counts it as landing. You don't see the collision box, but it can be made visible with Dolphin's cheat codes. All you need to do to actually perform a NIL is use the right animation (like backwards jump on Marth and Falcon) in the right place (from below a platform). Samus's up air also works.

serious shoutouts to backwards jump poofy cancel ROFL. But something else that I got out of this video. Why do you double tap to fall through plats? Is that just an insurance thing to make 100% sure you'll fall through or is it just a better way to fall through?

on left or right platform, a SH, then a late double jump, to single hit nair should cancel the 3 frames of lag.

No; More lag. This has less lag than a standard landing animation, which has less lag than a waveland.

Tmathh wavelanding onto platforms is usually for the purpose of quick neutral movement immediately on a platform, or for landing directly on a platform your full hop would overshoot, like ganondorf or falco

also wavelanding helps positioning a lot especially when trying to avoid fox or falco's U-air while in range to Waveland, and I'm not positive but I think the Waveland lag can be ledge-canceled to act out of, again I'm not positive but I think that's how it works
