Peyton does so many amazing covers, and does a lot of Viking songs as well. Your last reaction to him was indeed his cover to the iconic "Zombie" song by the Cranberries. He is becoming much more widely known and loved, to the point where Disney allowed him to put out a Rock/Metal album covering a lot of their big songs from various animated movies! Melodically, Peyton's version is very different in parts which is what I really like a lot of times with covers. I feel like if you're going to redo a song, make it your own. Disturbed did that with the grit and "growl" that David Draiman put into his voice, and Peyton does it here with both his voice and the music switch-up in parts. Makes the song feel different enough to be really interesting while keeping the familiarity at the same time. I am so glad that you enjoyed this! I almost recommended Colors of the Wind first! So, its neat to see that you're interested in it as well. I think I have my next recommendation incoming before resuming the trip into the King Diamond album. Oh, and a final thank you for putting the idea of Peyton and Lauren doing a duet in my head... Now I know that my music life is missing something I never knew I needed! 🤣 Thanks, Randi!!

I wasn't going to comment because my eyes are getting very heard live live with, just seeing the key board is a proper task. But then I heard it. I can't leave another blank space once I've heard this. Noy just another cover, no, but one heck of a lot more. I wouldn't say re-invented, or revised, but read in a knew ay, from another perspective. and spread anew for a generation with a different outlook. The original was, and is the way it was meant to be. Like the hearts cry of an urban nobody seeking escape from urban turmoil, and the brake neck pace of living in a major city, and seeking the solace that comes from cutting ones self off from from the chaos and mayhem that threatens mental well being to the limits. That solace most will be found within, placed by a higher, loving entity that so few find. But turn to outside sources instead like drink, drugs and the like. But when I hear it played this way, I think it's a similar cry, but from one getting weighed down by peer pressure to comply, conform, of be cast out. There's nothing to fault your reaction Randi, especially the way you've described the voice. The cover from Disturbed was a big influence on me, but this one goes a step further. It gives an image in my mind of an island in an ocean, and the island is the only place of calm, as all around, a violent storm rages wildly, as if fuelled by the devil himself. Be well sweet lady.
