MIchael tries getting across the point to Rachel that they can never have a relationship, which, in turn, attracts a number of on-lookers......Although Elliot is angry at the fact that Chandler left Peyton Place with having any comeuppance, he's still wary that they haven't seen the last of the insidious man.......

I think it is a hoot how all of a sudden a group of Peyton Place denizens just happen to have gathered to watch two people having a private conversation!

Oh shut up, Sandy. Rod should have known that you would be totally unable to have a "no strings" relationship. She tells Rod he may have to look around for her later. LOL! I doubt he'll be looking.

This wins for most comical episode with Dr Rossi and Rachel.

05:55 - 06:00 Rachel, hurt and defensively, to Rossi, "You mean you'd kiss ANYONE? What if it'd been one of your 88-year old nurses?" Surely, she's not referring to Miss Choate. Ha. 06:10- 06:19 Rossi: "Rachel, look, all doctors from time to time have young, female patients that think they're falling in love with them. I mean Allison did with me." Memories can be fleeting, but I recall Allison ADORED Dr. Rossi, just like she adored her "Uncle Matt." I think she thought Dr. Rossi would be the perfect spouse for her mom, Constance (ed. - so did Constance). But, I'm not so certain Allison looked upon him as the ideal mate for her.

Why doesn't Stephen simply ask for an explanation from Betty? For a lawyer he seems to want to judge her before finding out the facts.

Exactly!! He can at least give her the opportunity to tell her side of the story before jumping to conclusions on his own.

Any time Steven has asked Betty about her behavior she never answers him because of her "secrets" at the time. Steven has had enough of her ducking and dodging questions!

Goes to show you that Rachel was suppose to be Allison that is also why Constance had lost her obsession in finding Allison.

That sure is one busy town square, isn't it? Peyton Place---a city that never sleeps! Bravo, Rachel, for standing-up for yourself to an uptight Dr. Rossi, who's becoming rather disagreeable. I hope his negative, stressed-out attitude toward the girl changes soon. Connie most-alluring in that light powder-blue dress. The Peyton mansion really comes alive in this episode. Despite the fact Martin's hosting a birthday party for Steven, who's set to make a big political-announcement, it looks like the storied-old domicile likely will be the scene of a duel-challenge, murder, or suicide before the night's out!

This could be considered encouragement to the writers to build on this: behind the scenes Leigh Taylor-Young's predecessor, similarly-aged Mia Farrow, is soon to marry Frank Sinatra, he of Ed Nelson's generation.

I think Rod and Sandy would make a great couple. I like Sandy's honesty that she "digs" him and is honest in her pursuit of him. However, I know it was the 1960s, so it was a different time and Sandy would be deemed too aggressive and not a nice girl!

Interesting, to some fans anyway, that this follows Rossi's and Rachel's public scene with spectators. Seeing the two in proximity, one could conclude -- Rodney and Sandy, "could work"' Rossi and Rachel, "not likely."

10:17 - 10:27 and 12:20 - 12:38 Oh, that the director would have filmed Dorothy Malone from the opposite side so we could see her face, her pretty face -- OBSCURED by her / 'Contance''s helmet-type wig.

If Rachel had told the truth about where she found the bracelet, there would have been no "crisis." Eliot needs to just shut up.

5:00 - 5:40 Some cute "business" in the direction, obviously following the script since the extras had to be hired and and specific props (i.e., ladder and saw) secured for the respective extras, showing how seemingly the very instant one starts TRYING to have a private, intimate conversation some intrusions, in this case, unforeseen observers pop up. "Wouldn't you know?!" we rhetorically ask ourselves in frustration. We make the effort to move to a new position / location for privacy, the PERFECT spot secured, and resume saying what seems to be so important it can't go on any longer unsaid. Barely a sentence is uttered when "Bingo! / Wouldn't you know?! number 2" [5:27 - 5:33], the tree surgeon with saw and obtrusive ladder -- GUARANTEEING no privacy -- presents himself, throwing our concentration off and adding to the frustration. Cute that it's not bothering Rachel in the least, but it's surely 'doing a number' on Michael. Little do these other folks know that they're intruding in what we'd like to consider our private territory in a public setting at the most unexpected, inconvenient moment. The aforementioned adds to the scene's realism.

I'd rather see Rodney with Sandy than Rodney with Betty, because I like seeing Steven and Betty together. Rodney is too fickle and a womanizer.
