Original air date: December 28, 1967 on ABC. Leslie's perplexed when Martin asks him to take over running the mill, Peyton's lands and his other properties......Martin reads Philllip Van Leyden's final letter to Michael.....
Macready plays Martin so well, I actually skipped over the episodes he was out. Lola Albright was a fine stand in, just couldn't stand the other guy playing Martin.
+ John B I sure don't blame you there. Wilfred Hyde-White was just fine in My Fair Lady as Pickering, and I've liked him in other shows and films he's been in-but,like you,I couldn't accept him playing Martin Peyton.
Long-gone are the days when a hospital's policy would enable a doctor to admit a person io take up bed-space simply for extensive rest & observation, as in Rita's case. I know it's a show from a vanished era, and I love it for that, but this would never fly in the climate of today's medical world.
She has what would be called a high risk pregnancy now and has a heart issue. She isn't doing what she is supposed to and is in danger of losing the baby.
+Sam Edwards They should've had a "Who Shot Martin?" cliffhanger. Certainly, there'd be tons of suspects. But I wouldn't want Martin to succumb to his injuries. He's too important a character to lose.
