@@nisetsompumhirun5739 Stop making Steven out to be the poor put-upon victim. He made his own bed. He mistreated Betty all through their marriage. He accused her of having an affair with Rod, he used her as a spy in the Peyton house, he believed a false report on Betty's activities while in New York without even giving her a chance to explain; he humiliated her in front of the Governor and Peyton Place elite; he put his desire to destroy Martin Peyton above everything; finally, he got involved with another woman. When you add all that up, Betty stayed with him far longer than she should have.
There are a lot of Steven haters, and Steven’s behavior is hateful at times...but I believe the story of Peyton Place is Steven’s story [not Allison’s], and he is honest! at all times, brutally honest, and demands it from his courtroom subjects too, to a cringeworthy degree.
Okay, so this whole pillary scene...why in the world would you celebrate that, or it's meaning to the town's history? And to stick someone in there and take their photo? Why would anyone go along with that? Good gracious
I agree, but I guess it was far enough removed from when it was actually used made it easier. It was a horrible form of punishment, used mostly for women.
@@maryannanaya905 Ya. The Little Foxes, Scarlett Street. Sooo many more! He played the town drunk in an episode of The Twilight Zone. I watch any movie he's in.
