This is a Quick Review and Maintenance Instructions of the:
Pfister F042JDKK Jaida Single Control 4" Centerset Bathroom Faucet, Brushed Nickel, 1.5 gpm
Quick facts:
Pro:
- Nice look
- Works great most of the time
- Rather affordable
Cons:
- heavily squeaking after only 2 month (which required this maintenance)
- some water flow along the bottom of the nozzle which can even lead to water flowing backward on the counter-top which is clearly a construction failure
- Instructions are very very very (...) poor and don't show all the details which are needed to install and maintain this faucet.
- support was somehow OK, but they do everything to eliminate bad reviews. Two of them were eliminated from the Home Depot site.

Thanks for making this video! I needed to take the cartridge out to see if there was debris in the hot water channel. Turns out it was clean, but there was debris in the screen at the bottom end of the copper piping where the water connection is made.

I've experienced a similar problem and needed to clean the screens. I also flushed the supply lines into a small bucket. My experience with the Jaida, I've installed over a dozen, the screens easily collect sediment and slow or stall pressure. The upper cartridge should be replaced when there's a drip.

For anyone that wants to know, I figured out that the hex key size is 3/32 in. to remove set screw. The metric hex keys sizes of 2mm and 2.5mm did not work for me. Update: I tested it again, this time with the handle already off. 2mm is too small. 2.5mm is slightly too big. 3/32 in. is the perfect fit; 3/32 in. is about 2.38mm.

I had an issue where the hot water would not turn on. I contacted Pfister and the rep said it was a cartridge issue and sent me one. That was not the issue. There is an aerator or screen where the hot water enters the faucet. That was clogged with slime of some sort. I have well water. Just FYI in case someone else has the issue.

I also had this problem, but with Las Vegas city water (very hard). Easy to clean out the screen once you disconnect the water supply line. A few flicks of a fingertip along the screen cleared the debris, and all is normal now. Thanks for that tip!

Was this screen accessible without removing the faucet? I have the same issue right now.

Was this below the counter (where the two pipes connect) or above the counter?

Mine would squirt you when the water was turned on. I had to remove the screen where the water comes out. I used the Allen wrench that I took the handle off with to scratch it out. The screw on the top of the stem he says is useless, do not remove it. It’s what the set screw seats on to hold the handle.

How do you remove and clean the aerator?
@bentebbens
@bentebbens 3 года назад
I pryed it out carefully with a small, tiny glasses type screw driver and then cleaned it with an old tooth brush or similar brush. I ended up leaving it out after having to do it twice now but now it seems the "cartridge" is clogged, thus why I'm watching this video. Ugh, not sure Pfister is the best product or not. Had just cheap ones in the past and never had a problem like this before.
