Growing up in Walnut Cove, a small town with little resources, PG No Name moved to Winston-Salem at nine. His transition from the country to the city marked a period of rebellion and exposure to new influences, including first time smoking weed and facing the harsh realities of street life, and school life. He had to fight because he was the minority. He explains how that affected him. Influenced by artists like Gucci Mane and Young Dolph, PG No Name's music is a reflection of his experiences and struggles, the same struggles many rappers in the game went through. When asked about his creative process he prefers punching in over writing, believing it allows for a more natural and fluid creative process.
