A peek at what's it like working as a Material Handling Technician for PGT Innovations.
The Material Handling Technician is responsible for removing finished goods from the manufacturing line and placing into the warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completed forklift certification and passed test successfully.
- Safely operate electric stand-up lifts.
- Able to perform and maintain daily housekeeping duties for assigned areas
- Able to identify extrusions, glass and other materials that are in their assigned areas.
- Able to read and interpret extrusion labels.
- Able to identify incoming quality issues and notify correct parties for resolution.
- Demonstrates the ability to dispose of all scrap materials.
- Able to perform accurate system transactions with a hand-held scanner or at computer terminal with a 100% accuracy.
- Able to determine system transaction issues and make the appropriate corrections to resolve the issue.
- Safely loads and unloads extrusion racks (Glass Plant- Stoche glass packs) with an overhead crane and performs necessary system transactions accurately
- Remove DMRs as identified by Quality
