Is it correct rinse with tap water then with distilled water??

Dear User, It is not recommended to use tap water for washing. This is to prevent the deposition of contaminants like dissolved ions or any other residual matter/suspended particles on the glass membrane. It is always advised to use deionized water for rinsing/cleaning the electrode thoroughly. In case you are looking for cleaning procedures for a specific sample, we recommend you to write to us at ph.lab.support@mt.com with specific details about your sample, solvent, and name of the sensor, and our experts shall help you with a detailed procedure to clean the electrode. Hope this helps!

You mean rinse with DISTILLED water

Hi, Distilled water as name suggests is obtained from the purification process called distillation. The distillation process eliminates microbes, viruses and most non-volatile compounds including neutral organic molecules. However some volatile impurities may be carried along with the steam. On the other hand, the process of deionization makes use of ion-exchange resins which exchange the cations and anions within the water with H+ and OH- ions. Thus deionized water (DI water) is specifically free from any ionic impurities but neutral organic molecules may pass through. Therefore in principle water generated from both techniques can be used to rinse the electrode. In case you need further personalized support, please send your queries to ph.lab.support@mt.com
