I also have a feeling that Canada will follow the British new law as well when it comes to family sponsorship, where you need to make at least 70-80k CAD to bring your family here..
Canada has a wide space to fill in by people and canada needs more people to pay tax.
Inaccurate headline: the PH envoy said “not a SURE pathway,” hindi “not a path to PR”. Magkaiba ‘yun. There are provinces that have PR streams exclusive for international students. It is a pathway, but not guaranteed bec the intl student needs to meet certain points to be invited for permanent residency.
I came to Canada as an intl student at 20 yrs old due to health reasons na walang agency agency. So far coming here, I’m asthma free for 10 yrs na pwera lang pag uuwi ulit sa pinas for vacation. Idk but I was the youngest intl student in my campus, most are young families and on their 40’s. Looking back, I can say wag na po kayo pumunta. If you can work 2 or 3 jobs while sacrificing your family time dahil literal po na wala kayong pahinga 365 days ay hindi ko po kayo pipigilan. Plus you won’t be able to spend more time sa family mo kasi busy ka kakakayod.
So true. Canada is a socialist country under the incompetent Trudeau. Taxes are high. Filipinos wanting to live there are naive and ignorant of the facts. .
7 years ago, I came to Canada as int'l student. I went through the immigration process from student visa, to student work visa, to working visa, to permanent residence visa to Canadian citizen within 5 years. I would say hindi madali ang lahat, in every stages there is always that challenge. But I am backed up with a good credentials and good numbers of work experience from Pinas and other countries as well. In my personal view.. your solid goal, humility, patience, preparedness both physical, mental and emotional is what really can sustain you through adversity... and yes ... prayers.
NZ and Aus are better for OFWs. nearer to PH, less fatal cold temperatures and much less discrimination, positive ang image ng Pinoy sa Aus at NZ, so accepted tayo dun. sa totoo lang mahirap ang sitwasyon sa canada ! maraming mga pamilyang canadians na naging homeless na dahil sa sobrang gastos dun kahit sa kuryente pati rent pagkain at heating. may ilang OFWs din na naging homeless may vid sa RU-vid! :((
I think they find Canada to give them a “classier” and higher status because of its proximity in culture and language to the all powerful and mighty United States.
Best investment narin talaga sa mga Bansa like Canada, Australia, USA in my opinion!!!
Wouldn't it be better for the Philippine government to create decent jobs and have decent labour laws so that Filipinos don't have to leave the country? If you are a Filipino person and come to Canada to work at 7-Eleven you are not doing better than in the Philippines. I know so many Filipinos working in Canada in low level menial jobs , often working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet and when you ask them when the last time they have been home they often say 8 or 10 years ago. Canada is a very expensive country to live in and 5 month of the year you have to live in the cold freezing weather. So ask yourself before you come do you have the skills to earn over a $100,000 a year? If you only have the skills to earn $40,000 a year, you probably are better off looking for job in the Philippines earning 40,000 Pesos a month.
the cheap labor cost is the main reason why bplo, manufacturing, and garments industry are coming to the philippines. And indonesia, india and vietnam offer lower minimum wage. You just have to balance the interest of the employees as well as the employers.
Henry Ford the founder of the Ford Motor company offered his workers $5.00 a day which was several times the going rate, the reason was that he wanted to build a middle class to purchase his Model T. I am a businessman and I don't see no benefit to have a permanent underclass. The Philippines needs to focus on its skills. Garment factory workers will never be paid well. The number one problem the Philippines has it has a culture of mediocrity until you change that the Philippines will never be prosperous. I've been coming to the Philippines for 38 years and spent winters here for the last 18 and it is disheartening how poorly things are done. Even go to the Ayala malls and the washrooms are never in top shape. Half the urinals don't flash. I am in Mindanao now and our Gaisano grocery store is a disgrace, loose tiles on the super market floor nothing is being fixed. The other issue is when I came to the Philippines in 1986, even the poor people could understand basic English, now you have people who can't even answer the most basic words. I asked a guy the other day " WHERE DOES THIS ROAD GO ? as I was driving around the hills of Mount Apo. He couldn't even answer a simple question like that? What can you do with people like that buy use them as farm labourers?@@michaeljunior1445
please make sure we do not see pinoy students asking money on malls, groceries and sidewalks this year 2024. nagugulat ka na lang may bumabati ala na daw budget.
Get a U.S. or Canadian education first and foremost. Then see what will be in store for you abroad but do not raise your expectation high. If you go back to the Philippines, you will be in a better position to compete with a U.S. or Canadian University degree.
That’s the point. Their main purpose of “coming to Canada” is not to “get an education” but to use that as a “frontal mask” to permanent residency which is their main purpose. Canadian student visa has a “dual intent” provision that allows them to adjust status. American student visa (J-1) has none. You come as a student, you go back when you’re done! That’s why it’s not popular with Filipinos because they can never be permanent residents with J1. That alone proves their purpose is not education. It’s immigration.
That’s the point: It’s now unaffordable for them to come to Canada or US to get a Canadian or American Education. Besides. The main purpose of them coming to Canada is not to study but to be permanent residents because Canadian immigration allows for dual intent on student visas.
@@royalbalasuela819 But you are not canadian. Instead of trying to stay in canada as an illegal immigrant, better stay in the philippines and try to live with the profit no matter how small it is. You are just being unreasonable and greedy.
First off their main purpose of coming to Canada is not to be a student but to use that pathway to become Permanent residents. They had no intentions of going back to begin with.
That’s not true. That’s expensive. Pinakamalaki talaga na salary para sa ofw is USA then second Canada 3rd lang ang australia tapos european countries na
@@nicholasedwardulanday7987 Weekly rent kasi Weekly pay rin po. It depends sa job position siguro pero compare nyu yung minimum wage ng Australia, Canada and USA… Australia ang pinakamalaking sahod. Heard so many complains about tipping culture in America and Canada coz of low salary as a minimum earner. In Australia we paid decently. I know sa mga student visa nagsisimula sila sa mga babang position whereas dito sa Australia kahit mababang position decent amount pa rin marereceive mong sahod.
@@nicholasedwardulanday7987 We get paid weekly in Australia others fortnightly naman kaya weekly din ang rent. If you get paid monthly and pay rent monthly pareho lang po. If you’re 1,600 per month here in Australia we pay $400 weekly that’s how it works po.
Yong first two years na subjects natin sa college ay pang grade 11 at 12 lang sa kanila, like psychology, calculus, accounting, org and inorg chemistry, college physics, politics, and etc are being taken in grades 11 and 12 if the students are university bound applicants. So if the local student pays 7k canadian dollar tuition per year, the international student pays around 19k or more denpending on the program he or she is taking. After graduation, your certificate is not an absolute guarantee that you can land job. Di uso doon na nagbibigay ka ng transcript of records pag nag-aapply ka ng trabaho kundi Diploma or certificate lang, at doon makikita ng hiring employer ang academic standing mo sa pamamagitan ng "with distinction and high distinction" na nakasulat sa certificate.
Nasa Canada at IS ka ba? Cno nagsabi sayo n d pwd ang grade12?😂 Usually tlga 2 yr diploma kinukuha ng IS for practical reason (alam ng IS yan) at hindi dahil sa mahina 😂 at madami n nagiging Manager s gnyang level, as long as qualified pasok ka sa work 😂. Hindi dahil s di pwde s mga best univ kundi sadyang mahal tlga pag Univ at Ung pipitsuging school na sinasabi mo baka malula ka pagnakita mo sa personal, ultimo banyo pwd mong tulugan.
@@elledelavin7648 yong grade 12 na galing sa atin ang di tatangapin except for the graduates of international schools in PH, because the curriculum is exactly the same in Canada. Trust me, I visited 4 years ago the campuses of U of T, Mississauga, Scarborough and St. George, huge campuses and they have also a clean kubeta. 🤣
Not really. You don't even need to speak English fluently to land a job here. Even just a basic English skills can get you far. Remember Canada is a very inclusive country.
Baka daw maging delulu with gender pronouns nonsense or maging adik sa Vancouver.
I agree with how studying french helps with those wanting to get PR status. Un kasi ang mababa needed na CRS points pag express entry draws - not that low but at least much lower than the high CRS points recently for general draws.
And you are proud of it ! For the love of money, you will sell your fellow Filipinos … Shame on you !!! 😡 One day , one way or another KARMA will get you real good … measure for measure
In the Philippines, your chances of being promoted to a CEO of a company is 50% but if you go abroad to work, your chances of being promoted to a CEO is 0%
Not everyone wants to be a CEO. Most of us just want to be financially secured that's why a lot of pinoys are going abroad. Some wants to immigrate, become a dual citizen and retire worry free knowing you will receive a monthly pension enough for your needs and free healthcare. Some just wants to work abroad, save enough money they can invest in the Philippines like buy properties they can rent out or put up a small business then continue working till they retire and enjoy the monthly pension they get from the America or Canada and live in the Philippines.
You need to be rich first or build your own business to become a CEO 😅 no one promotes you to become a CEO if you don’t own some percentage of the company 😊
siguro naman kahit saang bansa ka ipinanganak eh need mo magsipag para gumanda buhay. at sino ba naman ang ayaw manirahan sa developed country. dito sa atin sa pinas, when was the last time na pumunta ka ng shopping mall ng walang hassle sa entrance (walang sekyu at metal detector) at eto na lang, when was the last time na naglagay ka ng mobile phone sa bulsa ng bag mo na hindi mo kailangang yakapin?
Ito ang problem natin bilang bansa. Inisend natin ang ating napakatalino at napakasipag na kababayan upang mag-aral sa ibang bansa, only for them to wish to stay there.
Stop blaming the Filipinos. Instead asked the government kung saan sila nag kulang.
Just to let you know that those bright students sent abroad (like government agencies) for the sole purpose of studying are indeed going back to the Philippines to share their knowledge and skills acquired abroad for at least 2 years. Then after that they can leave for whatever country they wish to stay for good. Otherwise, you need to pay the agency that sent you abroad for the expenses you incurred if you plan on not coming back. Yup, speaking for my classmate.

@@joemarijm Tama po kayo. All I am saying is that kailangan natin ang cultural shift of Pinoys investing sa Pinas imbes na pagalis sa iba't ibang bansa. Kapag umalis ang mga napakasipag, matatalino, at matatapat, what is there left at home and who is left to govern? Pinoys who have had the privilege and experience of abroad living need to bring those skills and perspectives back sa bayan, otherwise nothing improves here. If anything, dapat lang silang bumoto.

Walang humaharang but it’s train wreck waiting to happen from the get go. We came here as PR so from experience kahit may income napaka hirap dahil may bills at mataas standard of living. I cannot imagine coming as student. Parang may tumatagas pag nag-student pathway ka instead of money coming in may palabas. In fact mas mabilis ang palabas kesa napasok dahil napaka taas ng matrikula as international student approx half a million pesos per semester. Ever since ang international student pathway ay para sa “can afford” lang. Mag-succeed ka man imagine the stress from hours you put in tapos ginastos mo pa na $$$. Overall, it’s not worth it investment.
