A Philippine Navy NAVSOCOM operator lost a finger during yesterday's RoRe mission at Ayungin Shoal. Six PN vessels were targeted by Chinese forces, including the RHIB manned by a NAVSOCOM team. The Chinese naval personnel boarded and punctured the NAVSOCOM RHIB using knives and in the ensuing confrontation the NAVSOCOM operator lost a finger, seven other members of the team were also wounded. The Chinese confiscated 8 weapons from the PN boat. Main PN vessel was surrounded by Chinese vessels on all sides, boarded and towed far from Ayungin Shoal.
