Join us as we visit Phantasialand in Germany for the parks 2016 Wintertraum event, home to fantastic attractions and spectacular shows. We take a ride on all our our favourite attractions at the park, including a first look at the new area for 2016 "Klugheim" in the dark. We also check our the park atmosphere with thousands of magical Christmas lights and beautiful decorations spread everywhere you look. Along with all of that, we watch all of the Christmas shows on offer at the park, along with sharing our thoughts and highlights. We also share highlights from the 2 night-time shows, Tiempo De Fuego and The Magic Rose - Spirit Of Light!

Phantasialand should be included in every single one of those 'People Are Awesome' vids that come around every year. The combined talent to bring this place to existence is breathtaking, from the coaster engineers to the dudes hammering away at their computers creating motion graphics for projections, to the costume designers stitching the perfect seam. Goosebumps as tall as Kingda Ka watching this.

I'm german and i just had my first visit at phantasialand, which was amazing. Till then Europapark was my favorite Park with Woodan and Blue fire beeinmg my favorite coaster, but Phantasialand and Taron tops everything for me. When it comes to theming, Phantasialand and especially Klugheim is amazing.

Chiapas' soundtrack might be my favourite soundtrack ever! I'm also so glad I got to experience Taron this year, definately my most extreme coaster experience yet, and would love to get back on next summer.

Phantasialand has got to be one of my favourite parks to visit and the winter event looks stunning. Certainly very impressive when you compare what the UK has on offer.

Funny you said that Temple of the Night Hawk could be like Space Mountain, since the ride had a space theming back then when it opened, and wasn't empty and black at all. But I'm sure you heard about that before, since basically everyone who has ridden the space version of it is not fond of the changes they've made to it and I bet people told you about it in the comments before. Great vlog as always, I love your Phantasialand vlogs since it's my home park and I love seeing people's reactions too it!

***** That's true, I enjoy the soundtrack! But still I'd much rather have something to look at. The coaster still has great potential and isn't even that boring or slow, but with nothing to look at it you just don't feel the speed as much.

***** I absolutely agree. Never had the chance to ride it while it was still Space Center, but from what I've seen online, there wasn't much to look at even back then. I hope they do something about it, but I have a feeling the ride will be demolished in the near future.

***** those old POV videos from back then don't do it justice. The entire hall was covered in tiny lights suggesting stars, and there were planets and space ships that zipping past you. It was cool :)

goldentapes At one of my last visits we rode it with the lights on! After that I asked the operator if he knows that the lights are on. He was very surprised and switched them off. So we had luck to see everything. The track is massive and it is not a bad coaster!

Phantasialand in winter - very worth it. Far less queuing and the lighting is amazing. If you already know the park by daylight and happen to be near Cologne, I highly recommend the less-than-half-price evening ticket.

vor weihnachten = before Christmas, so the show was likely called "5 minutes before Christmas." It's also pronounced vy-nak-ten 👍 ein schöne bescherung = Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays or literally, "Nice gift-giving". Germans are mostly all exceptional English speakers as well; it's just us Brits who are terrible at other languages!

'Ch' is not rendered as a 'k' sound in German, but as a voiceless uvular fricative, a sound that does not appear in most forms of English (which is why English-speakers will often mispronounce it as 'k' or 'sh'). 'Eine schöne Bescherung', while literally meaning "nice gift-giving", is probably most commonly used as an idiom to ironically refer to an minor accident or unhappy occurence. Also, in my personal experience, Germans are by and large not great speakers of English, at least compared to countries like the Netherlands or some scandinavian countries. Naturally, knowledge of English is becoming more common among younger people, but even among those there are plenty of people who struggle.

Ohhh i love the Final Firework and the Music so much... This is the only place that let me feel like i was a child befor the christmas night... So magical... I cant wait for the 2017/2018 Wintertraum. maybe im able to spend my time at the "party at WuzeTown" Event during the new Jear. =) GREAT VLOG and Great to see that you had a very magical time there. Chiapas is one of my favourite rides out there, if it were classed as a coaster it would honestly be in my top 10, I rode it in 2014 5 times in the pouring rain back to back and it was a magical experience

This park really reminds me of Alton Towers because they have troubles with locals and hence have to build rides in the weirdest and wackiest ways. Both parks have some of the best and most unique rides in the world

The shows in the vlog looked amazing!! Especially the one on the ice rink at the end. It looked to have a similar feel to Disney on ice. I might have to see about booking a trip out to Phantasialand for next Christmas!!

The reason why the wall of Taron isnt going any longer is because the current setup is somewhat temporary, behind the planted wall is a big open area which is used to store things right now and may be used in the future ;)

Hi an England und Germeny i Komming aus Niedersachen Braunschweig. Good Video Winterland Phantasialand. War im Sommer mit meinem Bruder dort mit Übernachtung im Hotel Matamba auch richtig toll. Nächstes Jahr 2017 auf jeden Fall wieder hin ins Phantasialand und neu zum Europapark. Good by England und Germeny. Sorry my english is not so good.

Hey Shaun, what you said around the 15 minute mark, Phantasialand did confirm that the 'green wall' is temporary, and will be taken down in a few years. They didn't do the rockwork all the way because they knew they are going to be building some new things there!

To give my minor info, "5 vor Weihnachten" means five before Christmas. Weihnachten is pronounced "Why - knock - ten" except 'W' has a 'V' sound, so it would be "Vhy - knock - ten". The other phrase, "Eine schöne Bescherung" means a beautiful giving and is roughly pronounced "ein-eh shone bay-share-roong". Not German but American, just grew up in a U.S. city with a lot of people with middle and eastern European ancestry, in fact, didn't know anybody with an English surname until I entered high school. You guys should go to the big German Weihnachtsmarkts (Christmas markets). There's one in Berlin that's almost all rides, I think it's called the Alexa.

I would love to ride Taron, Black Mamba, Chiapas and Talocan but I can barely afford to visit Alton Towers more than once a year so there's very little chance of me flying out to Germany :( Either way it looks like you guys had an amazing visit and I want one of those chocolate marshmallow sticks XD

RCS Reviews Not every ride. Needs an inversion. They don't make coasters. Just like Europa Park, Phantasialand only needs one inverting coaster for the time being. It creates a great variety among the rides and it is a family park.

Only the show is named the same as the attraction at port aventura, they are completely different. Tiempo de fuega is a projection show, Templo the Fuego a walkthrough.
