I saw the trailer earlier tonight just browsing old flicks on amazon, and I knew it was the greatest horror movie I hadn't seen. What a fucking great movie. I'm already grabbing a copy on blu ray for the future
Such a brilliant theme from such classic horror movie - now revitalized with some “fusion inspired drums”: enjoy! ✌🏻🤩 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nfIxlDimaJ4.html
Whoever played the drums on this deserves a lot more credit for carrying the movie on their backs. They put in at least as good of a performance as Angus Scrimm. The film wouldn't be half as good without those beats.
I'm in Julian where they filmed the scene of the tall man walking down the street during the day and he stops near the ice cream truck and the kid checks the phone booth for change...The phone booth is still there today... Whenever I walk past it I check it for change...My own little homage to Phantasm.
A soundtrack that captures the essence of the film on so many levels, even the somber tones of the soundtrack fused into a funeral pipe organ, transforms the film from real to the surreal. The grim atmosphere of the funeral home to the sinister black hemicuda make this one of the greatest contemporary horror films of its generation, a time capsule of its generation
Could not agree more. I'm a session guitarist. One time the engineer was trying to get a particular Dry sound before the producer got there and it was a very staccatoish delayed analog chime.. I thought of phantasm immediately played it for him he ended up sampling the sound and has been using it in different things for his clients for years now. I remember I talked to him once and he said he listened to that soundtrack, now he's never seen phantasm, but has heard about it here and there. He was so blown away by everything about. From composition to choices with particular odd harmonies go in and out of weird configuration after weirder configuration. He thought it was masterful... I agree.
Only discovered that franchise two years ago, and That still haunts me today. What a movies they are, especially the very first. Merci for the soundtrack !
You bet! Many of what turned out to be genre defining movies from that decade of the late 70s through the late 80s my friends and I saw, not knowing at that time those movies would go on to be as renown as they later became. And in our neck of the woods, movie theaters didn't card teenagers to see rated R films back then --not that my parents had any issue with that sorta thing, hell, my dad took us to see Alien in '79 ...so yeah, we saw tons of those horror flicks, good and bad. Numerous fun blotter acid experiences at the drive-in theater..or, at least the night would start off there, only to end up who-knows-where, ha..usually a campground.
Something I hear all the time is Phantasm is not well known by all but considered a classic among horror film enthusiasts. That’s the way I like it, some things should be only ours. ⚪️💨
It's a great Cult Classic, loved it when I saw it randomly as a teenager. The second film is great too and has a better actor as one of the two main actors and the ending was cool like the original. But everything after is kind of mediocre because they waited too long and the actor from the second film (I forget his name, he was in Point Break and Drugstore Cowboy) wasn't in any more of the franchise, IMHO.
Очень люблю фильм Фантазм и заглавную тему из него. Подбор саундтреков мне очень понравился, спасибо 🙏 вам огромное, за такую красивую и шикарную музыку. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
RIP: Fredrick Myrow (1999), Malcolm Seagrave (2001), and Angus Scrimm (2016). Thanks for posting this soundtrack. Now, most people dont have to pay $100s for it on eBay. Phantasm is my favorite horror franchise of all time. 1 and 2 are my favorites. Shout out to Don Coscarelli and the original cast of the movies
"BOYYYYY!" one of the best horror films of all time. Only the original one of course. I went to see it when I was a kid it scared the crap out of me. The Black Cuda is awesome I totally love the Phantasm Theme.
Great movie and soundtrack, almost as good as "The Beyond" from the same era. Fun fact: "Phantasmagoria" is also a song from Speed/Thrash Metal band Annihilator.
This is awesome! Phantasm scared me big time when I was little. One of the best and original horror movies ever made! I had a major crush on Michael as a kid. I remember I thought of him as a hero in this movie! Boyyy!Thank you for posting this soundtrack! 😊
Thank you for creating this! I cannot find the soundtrack anywhere, and would love to own it. I saw this movie in the early 80s when I was 17, and was terrified by it. This is now one of my favourite horror movie series! Can't get enough.
I grew up in Oakland California where they used the Dunsmur House for the exterior scene of the funeral home. Still one of my favorite movies to this day.
What did Reggie say, when they were trying to figure out how to stop the Tall Man...... " ok I see it tnow ....I say we go up there and drive a stake, right through his goddamn heart!!!!!!
18:23 *Reggie:* Mike you had a bad dream. Now I know you're scared, but you're not alone. I'll take care of you. I know I can't take Jody's place, but I'm sure as Hell gonna try. Best scene best song in my opinion.
I finally watched this movie last night and what a great film!! So much creativity , I actually meant to watch it about 30 years ago and never got around to it....
I think I was too mesmerized by the eye candy of the movie to take in the music. This has been a great opportunity to reel in what I missed the first time around. Absolutely wonderful!
The Phantasm Disco Inferno song was playing when Jody picked up that lot lizard in the bar. Total Freak wanting to do it in the Graveyard everytime. Maybe that's where I get my Graveyard Fetish from. I took 1 girl and ever since been trying to take more.....lol
The original Phantasm movie is, of course, a fun, cheesy and scary horror classic. One of my favorites!!! But the soundtrack is an incredible example of how great music and scoring can elevate a low budget film!
Yep, another 70s gem! ...bit of a different beast altogether from Phantasm, but ya can't go wrong with Peter Fonda & Warren Oates in a crash em up outrunning a devil cult flick! lol
