This perfectly depicts the battle in Sonic's mind. Sonic's desperation to keep Fleetway buried and Fleetway trying to break free to cause carnage. It's honestly perfect. Funny thing is, in the whole of the Fleetway comics, Super Sonic never actually killed anyone. He smashed quite a few robots into pieces, but he never got the chance to actually kill anyone, good or bad.
@@AmadeusFandubs So you think that just because it’s a “kids franchise” that people aren’t allowed to kill? I don’t know. Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic 06, Sonic and the Black Knight, and even Sonic Forces (kind of) say otherwise.
@@tonysonic456 I'm just saying that it's rare for a franchise like Sonic to take deeper steps into violence. I'd love to see Fleetway maul someone, but they probably had to limit themselves somewhat during the runtime of the comic. And it's just not in Sonic's character to kill. I can't point out a single example where Sonic himself led to someone's death, evil or not, willingly. Every one of his kills are beings who aren't sentient like Dark Gaia. It's kinda like Naruto -- even though he has a bloodthirsty demon fox inside and lives in a war world, he never once killed a sentient being. Archie is probably the only iteration where he killed, likely in one of the pre-Genesis Wave issues (can't exactly remember)
@@AmadeusFandubs Sonic killed King Arthur in Black Knight you know, and unless Frontiers says otherwise, he and the rookie also killed Infinite. Sonic isn’t above killing. He just more or less uses it as a last resort.
@@tonysonic456 King Arthur wasn't a living being. He was an illusion made by Merlina and he disappears in smoke afrer Sonic "kills" him. So no, mainline Sonic's killcount remains at 0. Also, Infinite is definitely not dead. He flees at the end of the game and his fate is left vague. If Sonic really wanted to kill he would have done it to Eggman long ago.
That ending… “I hold dear Everything that you vow to destroy.” I haven’t felt lyrics be that impactful on me as a person for a long time. While I don’t have the same issues, fighting with myself and such, Sonic’s determination to protect everything from himself is beautiful.
As far as I know, Sonic hold's Fleetway back because he doesn't want anyone dead, and also he deadass knows that his friends are, going to become fried if he lets Fleetway out

They could do it slowly and then speed it up? How do you think RecD's dubs handled such a task? brodo's flaws include the bf voice being an octave lower and the it all isn't that much in tune due to fast sections even when skipping notes to be more comfortable.

1:01, "can't let them know that their hero's breaking down every chance he can when he's alone...".. this hits hard, as someone with depression and inner-demons, I try to be happy around friends, they all see me as the happy one of the group, but if they saw who I was inside, they'd leave me, and then my inner demons.. if those came out randomly then they'd take me apart, it's tough, when I heard this line, it made me think of myself.. and It's hard to believe I have friends who think I'm a hero, I don't get how anyone can look up to someone like me... I'm an extroverted dumbass in public and with others, but alone I just break myself apart and my demons come out.. honestly, I look up to Brodo... because well, she's what I wish I could be and I've always wanted to get a reply from her.... well, great work on the cover, especially Zac's Realm's vocals.. absolutely amazing... but yeah.. battering with inner demons is tough, but yknow, you just gotta get through it, I've been dealing with it for about 5 years and, it's not easy... and sometimes you just break yourself down over it.. so, I can relate to sonic in this... well, hopefully I get a reply from Brodo... goodbye!

Tuning feels a little forced and Janky sometimes, especially the beggining where it sounds like he’s going through puberty. Creative lyrics and definitely a great voice tho! Fleetways voice is great and would love to see a chaos cover in the future.(or a new fleetway song if we get one!) Great job!

I like how these lyrics both function as an excellent depiction for Sonic and Fleetway Super Sonic, and also working as a metaphor for people’s problems, which, while maybe being unintentional, is still cool.
This might be the best one you've done, just cause i think usually before it felt like he sang on every beat of the notes if that makes sense cause i usually couldn't hear the lyrics but now idk feels like he sings on the beat of the song i can hear the lyrics and it sounds great if its not his best then it's definitely my favorite from now on

woah, this was a pleasant surprise! Gotta love all those cool references! Im gonna be honest, my favourite parts were Fleetways. The sheer emotion in his voice is incredible. He sounds exactly what I thought he would sound like. Overall a great video! Only critique is that I’d say try to keep up the pace. With the beginning it kinda looked like you fumbled on your singing. But even then this problem is easily fixed within the next two phases, so this isn’t even a critique anyways lol. Great video! Keep it up!

This was truly spectacular. This is only 1 day old and I have already watched it start to end at least 5 times. Brodo and Zac did an amazing job with this. I also feel that a really cool mod to look at to add lyrics to (in my opinion, cuz it is one of my favorite mods of all time) is the Trollage Files.
The Monika version of Phantasm is my all-time favorite. This was so good that I would love it if Monika got lyrics as well. Though, I think these lyrics could work well for her too. Great job Brodo!

I know Im a bit late to the comment party train, but honestly I just so happened to see a video that said that sonic 3’s angel island theme was referenced in part of the original Phantasm track. I looked up phantasm to hear the full song and just happened to see this on it’s release day. Ive been listening to it almost exclusively since then at least 5 times a day. It is so amazing. Every aspect of this is perfect, from the voices, to the raw emotion, to Sonic’s uncertainty, to Fleetway’s bloodlust. This is brilliant and I love seeing such skilled creators working so hard to make such amazing things. Keep up your amazing work this is just perfect!

Pretty good as per usual! Though I feel at some points it would do you alot of good to try and match the pitch of the original lyrics abit more, if possible. Sometimes it feels abit too flat for what emotion you're trying to go for
Don't know if I'm the only person just noticing this but at 0:20 when he said "gasping for breath" I'm pretty sure that's a reference to the fact that you get no breaks in the song
The lyrics are absolutely incredible, you really are starting to rival the likes of Juno, and even RecD, but the voice effects are really what’s screwing you over, I get you wanna have a distinguishable style and all, but there’s better ways than going about that than a shoddier version of auto tune, (an already shoddy thing,) your content is amazing other than that but… dear god the voice effects are awful.
He meant that due to Sonic’s heroism, he refuses to let anyone die, it happened in the OVA movie, and this Sonic did the same thing, but he succeeded, so he just burdened himself and doomed the world by sparing and aging Fleetawy
