I've watched a half dozen reviews of this case in the last few days and this one is by far the most clear , concise and informative so far. New subscriber here ! Thank you.
Can the front fans be installed in front of the fan bracket, instead of behind it? It looks kind of weird for the black bars to cover the sides of the fans.
I bought this case back in November. I received my AMD 5900x a few weeks ago. Build was super-easy. Airflow is in the upper quantile. Im keeping this case when I upgrade my mobo-cpu to amd threadripper in 2 years+. It's a definitely a good workstation case.
Any case with 3x140mm front fans, a mesh front and plenty of space around a vertical GPU is off to a good start for me. The next thing I want to see is a case that eliminates the front drive bays to bring the intake fans 2 inches closer to the components. M.2 and rear-mounted SSDs should be plenty for most people and there is probably still room to put 1 or 2 HDDs in front of the PSU in a removable drive cage.
I hate how they use old tooling with room for front mounted drives and then sell it as "radiator support". Much better to have the front fans closer to the components they are cooling than to support putting a radiator on an intake. I actually got massive fan spacers 3d printed to somewhat deal with this issue. Now though I am waiting for the Silverstone Alta F1 which will come with air penetrator fans so any gap there is (hard to tell from the footage we have) will be less relevant (see here for what I mean: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8m8fC809TK0.html)
You can use the hard drive bracket to make a make shift fan bracket. Got 2x200mm fans on very front and 2x120mm mounted on that bracket with the fans about a half inch from my gpu.
So this is interesting. Evolv X really is a evolving chassis. First it was the Evolv X showing just a little mesh there and there, a bit shy , than the P600S started to mesh with our minds, and now P500A full kinky, so you can see all the parts straight through the mesh ;)
I just built a Ryzen build with this case. I am happy. I was looking for a case with a white interior so that narrows down the options. Lots of space to work, looks beautiful, all parts are cool.
Thank you, I want a new case soon and I already was like 95% sure this was going to be the one, been checking many reviews, but now im 100% sure! And cool to know the top filter is magnetic, I didn't know that but big plus for me! Now I just need to choose if I want black or try white for a change, but it kind of feels like you see the rgb fans less good in the white one's front, the rest of the white one looks pretty good though.. but ill probably end up going for the black one
i agree but its not really the case that is noisy, its phanteks crappy fans :D i switched them out and its super quiet now :D Great review indeed :D Clear, informative and not hiding anything, its perfect!
It is to note, that if you turn down this cases fans it will still cool better as any other case at the same noise level. So it's a good choice for high airflow and noise. (Gamers Nexus review)
Excellent and detailed video thanks guys, was hard to figure out if that plastic piece for vertical GPU mounting came t=with the case, this helped a lot
Very very detailed, thank you. The only place I've seen the cable covers removed (why not just use rubber grommets and avoid chafing the cables) since I'm interested in the additional HDD space.
Brilliant review from Leo. I had this case looks fantastic, loads of airflow but also a dust magnet. It an absolute nightmare so I sold the case. I won't ever buy a case with out dust filters again
Phanteks P Series Cases Are Good For Airflow. At 1000rpm We Can't Hear A Small Amt Noise Inside The Room.Wow!It's A Great Feature From Phanteks. The Front Mesh Panel With RGB Fans Looks Stunning With Lights Off.If We Buy This Case We Can Use Both New And Old System In One Case.Absolutely Love To See This Kind Of Cases From Phanteks❤
'Noise' is never an issue for me. My standing Lasko fan will always be louder than these fans, and I also game with headphones. Give me that sweet 1500 rpm high airflow all day long. Certainly wouldn't mind having a go building a proper ATX system in the black one (with my own 120mm ARGB fans though).
Was going to go with a Lancool II Mesh for a bit less than this but just didn't want to bother with the gaping hole at the bottom of the front panel. I'll probably pick this up instead.
Thank you from the future! I just bought a phanteks eclipse 600s and was looking at that sag bracket like it was some kind of mistake, having no idea how it was going to help. I get it now! Lets see how it works with a 4090 though....
Advantages- looks great when finished, good price Disadvantages a little cramped near the back when putting the large graphic card in and I found it to be more cheaper/budgety made than expected. But at the end my finished pc did look great
Thanks! I have a P500A Mesh as well and am a ROOIKE when it comes to installing the RGB fan wires. If I want to use the top buttons on top of the case to control the RGB, do I just leave the INCLUDED D-RGB (male/Female) wires and only plug in the 3 standard fan connections I see to spots on my Motherboard?
Really missed case reviews during the human malware, with CES not appearing, these cases have been flying under the radar. You always had the best Case reviews Leo,and that’s not just kissing your a*s,it’s the simple truth.Keep up the good work man.
I hate to be a negative nelly but I haven't liked some of these new Phanteks cases, my reasons are quite petty in all honesty. But it just makes my OCD itch. 1. I don't like the cable management plates as rubber grommits look cleaner to my eyes. 2. I cant imagine why anyone wants to see the side of the PSU... Would look cleaner without the cut out. It just looks very "busy" inside.
I agree with you on both points. 1. I think beQuiet does the same. Personally I don't use HDDs so it's all wasted space. 2. The only reason I can think of is for Phanteks to show off their own PSUs. It's actually a pain making sure you get a PSU where the side label is the right way up or the whole PSU is long enough that it doesn't leave a gap. Phanteks are generally excellent for function over form. They're a terrible choice if you have OCD :)
I just built with this today, 2 days before the 30 day return window. The fans are 4 pin. Between this and the lian li AIO it looks great, but it's a much noisier build than I was expecting.
I bought a 140mm phantek pwm fan for exhaust to add to the stock 3 front fans, how do I make them all work with the case rgb button also How did you change fan rpm? Sorry new to building. Thank you for your time
hello, i got the rtx 3060 ti elite from aorus and i have a question on the vertical fitment: i saw that there were differents "phanteks fl22" and I didn't understand well the differences... the length of the PCI on my gpu is 8.5 centimeters which one should I take ? i can find only 150mm or 220mm thank you
Guys I’ve got the non rgb version case. I’ve bought a phanteks pwn rgb exhaust fan for it, the fan works but the rgb doesn’t, the 4 pin connecter is connected to the system fan in the MB, there are two other three pin wires from the fan, where does it need to connected? I have x570 tomahawk MB. Thanks
Anyone know what cables plug into the Motherboard? There is no picture in the manual as well what do the drive caddies cost / if anyone knows, please and thank you.
Anyone happen to know how to get mobo to control RGB. I did remove the fans and replaced them with phanteks ARGB LED strips. I have it plugged into sata power and mobo RGB header but nothing happens in the software, rgb fusion.
Hi! I have a noob question bc I'm working on my build list and trying to figure out this whole intake and exhaust thing. What direction do the top fans go in this particularly build? And, also, do the fans on an AIO go the same direction or can the direction be set for each fan?
The rgbs are Daisy chained together from the cases rgb controller, powered by a SATA power cable. One extra ARGB output is given to chain more if you want, along with an Input ARGB cable you can hook to supported mobos if you want software control vs case button control. The fans are all separate though. However from all the Noctua fans ive bought over the years I have a ton of splitters and you can easily run 3 fans off one header, I believe headers are rated up to 1Amp and most fans will use about 0.22 Amps Max. I always want the 3 front fans running same speed so this solution works for me.
Can those included front fans be mounted on the front exterior under the mesh rather than inside the case? I mean is there enough room under the mesh cover to do it? (This is a more typical mounting to give room to mount radiator on the front inside.)
Just ordered mine last night excited will match ps5 and Xbox one X all white yessss and got myself a WiFi ATX motherboard so near £200 for that so made a start anyways buying my pc parts next CPU or graphics cards will buy that in January taking my time to a good dear part each so will be worth it when put together 🤟🛸👽
I have a p500a I can only find the power sw for my motherboard I can not find anything else with is a issue I can not turn it off only from the power supply can you help me
I was eyeing this case for a while but the lack of the fabric (dustfilter) in the front is a dealbreaker for me personal. My ``Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Glass`` is 4 years old and practically dust free on the inside. Is the front mesh sufficient enough to keep dust out?
If its anything like the old but well built cooler master haf x 932, the first metal mesh case, it will be dust city in there if you dont do regular cleanings. The mesh hole size is smaller on the p500a than the 932 though, so it probably filters better. I have the p600s which has seemingly better filyer dur to nylon mesh on front panel and fine mesh screen inside, but it still collects lights amount of dust. Clean it maybe once a month at most.
This is a very good question. At 3:01 they are clearly visible. But on the Phanteks website, they are only visible in one of their screenshots, in all others there is no sign of them. It looks like Phanteks have airbrushed them out. www.phanteks.com/Eclipse-P500A-DRGB.html
Here's another thought: if the full fan won't fit in front of the rail, is there room to fit a Phanteks Halo in there? Then get rid of the loud stock fans and get some white-bladed quiet fans. And save a few quid by doing all that on the cheaper model. It's probably not a perfect solution but it would hide the rails a bit and you get the option of quieter fans. phanteks.com/HalosDigital.html www.bequiet.com/en/casefans/1701
@@donkeysunited yea well, Ill just wait for lancool 2 mesh instead. shame about this rails cus this is a nice case also, but it will always keep annoying me if I buy it lol.
Hey kit, You guys talk about switching out fans like it's no big deal. I the U.S. today's prices are $84.00 3 pack 120mm fans. $90.00 3 pack 140mm. A single 140mm is 30 bucks!!!! That is the price of the case if you want 4 new fans from Phanteks, not including a rgb controller. Lastly on newegg they show the front fans mounted outside the bracket, witch you cannot do. I personally think it looks ugly that way. Thanks for the review.
We are not for one moment suggesting you buy a P500A, ditch the stock fans and install a set of PWM fans. What we want is for Phanteks to upgrade to PWM, ideally at minimal cost to the customer.
@@KitGuruTech Thanks for the reply. Just curious what do you guys know about the RGB industry.? I understand supply and demand, but how much does it cost these companies ( NZXT, Corsair) to produce an rgb fan. The ones that come with this case are a good example of a bad (loud) fan.
@@zefix2130 I appreciate the answer I built my first pc yesterday. I ordered 140mm fans from phanteks. Pc came out perfect. I didn't see youre response until now.
I know this comment is 6 months after this video was posted but does anybody know specifically if a 360 AIO cooler will fit in the front of the case with the tubes at the bottom of the rad??
I have this case but I’m having trouble with the fans. Does each fan have a cable that needs to plug into the motherboard? Or is there a single cable that plugs into the motherboard for all 3 fans?
I just saw the video. I believe he said they all plug into the motherboard directly unless you buy a hub. This is all new to me, so I don't really know, for sure.
i have just ordered this case and just need to know will i be better off buying the phanteks triple pack 140mm pmw fans and one single pmw for the rear and replace them so i can set all the fans through my bios on the motherboard and will i need to buy any extra cables because of the rgb fan's. Or will it be cheaper to buy the phanteks header and this will do the same job but i want the fans to ramp up when the gpu and cpu gets hotter i Its just confusing what to get as i am all new to this and will be my first pc build
@@LaoNinja007 i couldn't find any info on this and he didn't reply to my comment so i ended up buying the one fan for the rear as a pmw and brought the hub to go with it so i can hopefully set up the fan in dc on the motherboard and the rear fan as well but in pmw haven't got a clue how do to it yet as its hasn't been delivered i just got fed up on looking around for an answer so i just bit the bullet and hopefully work it out with out getting stressed out as i brought all my parts for a new pc from scratch and now i have to build it and thats for me is going to be a nightmare when it comes to the fans lol
I want to put a mini lcd screen in the psu shroud cutout - is there enough space between the cutout and the psu? And can you remove the shroud to work behind the panel?
Confident the answer is Yes. With Phanteks any RGB that is built in will work off the RGB control button by default. If you instead connect the lighting to the ARGB header on your mothebroard then you use the motherboard RGB software for control.
Hi guys, okay so how can we turn down the speed of the fans in order to decrease the noise level? It's managed by buttons on the top of the case or there is other way to do that?
@@lepoldbuttersstotch Can you do that with the "case spec" fans or do you need pmw like the replacements Phanteks sent him? Cause in the video I thought he said the case spec fans ran at 1500 full stop.
I would like to see how an air-cooled graphics card will do in this case using the vertical graphics mount. I have a Asus 5700 XT, the one that has the mounting pressure problem, and when it's vertically mounted the mounting pressure problem goes away. I currently have a Jerry rigged Anidees AI Crystal with the Phanteks vertical GPU Mount, however I can't fit a sound card in there anymore and the case is rather cramped. I'm seriously considering this case for its size, price, and features. My configuration will be severely positive pressure with the top and front as intake, like I have now, but right now I have all dust filters off.
anybody able to answer this for me... can you mount the 140mm fans at the front on the outside of the fan mount? Is there enough room between the front panel?
🤭 you wont believe this hut the front panel IS mesh. It has 1mm spacing and phanteks has done something to combine the 2. Believe I'm being legit the front panel is the dust filter
Nice looking case, but I don't like the PSU in a basement. I prefer larger duel chambered cases with more space for water cooling parts like my Thermaltake Level 20.
