They won't, to have a gameplay this fast is not gonna attract many casuals. Not to mention we still had not seen Black Myth Wukong or anyother game that showcased CGI traierls the actual in-game mechanics. But I guess Cool kids are impressed by an animated CGI trailer, only to cry when the game actually comes out looking nothing like the CGI. Not to mention the current consoles are already outdated.
As an animator looking at this, I've got to say that this is either the most intricate combat imaginable, or you won't be able to do any of this in game.
As a gamer I think it’s more just gonna be like “hold L1 to block” and all the cool animations happen naturally as a result. Probably a cool down associated with that kinda stuff too.
you already said it, this kind of thing is impossible in-game unless you have either a 40-button controller or train for several dozen hours just to get the reflexes and ability required to keep up with what's on the screen. its most likely QTE or otherwise scripted
I feel like the best way to implement some parts of this gameplay as seemless as possible is to have a do-it-all defense button you can hold, and the game will plug the animations accordingly.
It’s not gonna deliver on anything. People need to stop being so easily influenced by visuals and exciting trailers. I thought people learnt this lesson after anthem
I'm digging the fire breathing lion, they even gave him the drums and cymbal sound effect when he moves like in the traditional lion dance costume. So cool design!
Similar to Sekiro. You looked like an absolute buffoon in the beginning and a master Samurai by the end. If the combat works in a similar way in this game it could be a banger.
Right, if it genuinely plays like what’s shown here, WOW/AWESOME! I wonder how exactly tho lol? The animations, combat attacks mixed together, it confuses me & reminds me of some choreographed fight scene from one of Donnie Yen’s movies martial arts movies, and to incorporate that into a game within the gameplay looks very impressive on screen, but to actually see it in action, not in cuts but to also play it has my mind asking questions, like how? Overall, it looks very impressive though & just different from Ghost of Tsushima and just looks great!
If you think this game is real, you only got yourself to blame. Tell me, what's the button inputs for those combat move? They just pull back the camera to make it looks like someone is playing a game. It's one of those unreal engine 5 "video" by some chinese dev.
@@wasteofskin1551 I'm sure there are parts of the game that's real. But yeah, that's what the point of this comment is. It's obvious that the game isn't going to play anything like what we saw, that's why we're questioning it.
@@fuucaran Obviously its influenced by Sekiro and dark souls. But it still looks unique and amazing! Graphics, style, art and fighting animations + blood seem so cool!😂
Oh games have been capable for awhile. Just takes a team willing to invest in it. Its a small team but they said it took 10 years to develop this combat system
They could have looked like this for almost 10 years now. Just not on consoles. Unfortunately consoles are holding back the entire gaming industry. The tech demos you see on Unreal Engine’s latest promo vids, all run on PC. Obviously they’re tech demos. Speaking of which, The Matrix demo was quite impressive for being on console. PS6 is around the corner. Can’t wait to see the new standard in gaming graphics, it only gets better for PC gamers. Hopefully the jump is bigger next time around, with path-tracing, native 4K at 60fps minimum, AI-tech and more!
I agree. For that reason I’m skeptical. The combat here kinda makes it look like the best sword fighting video game of all time… but who are these guys? What’s their deal? It just seems a little sus.
@@FrostRare very out of nowhere for sure. Always a possibility some guys from other studios branched off to do their own thing. I’m very hopeful for this one
@@FrostRare yeah the more i watch the more i think these are special animation take downs instead of how the game will actually play, like it so fluid that this would be impossible to react to.
I love the sensational mix of dark with Chinese culture, literally from the characters and the combat everything is done to perfection. Can't wait to try the game!
All i need to see is the right traversal with great agility and acrobatics jumping in trees and stuff and the game would be a great seller with the way the combat looks
Yeah, the animations astounding, seriously. Not the usual ones we’ve seen time and again in video games. It’s got my mind asking how does it actually play and feel on the controller?!
@@playforfun8212 Right, those are some stellar yet complex looking moves to pull off on a controller. Maybe it is something like Sifu. A game meant to be complex
Hmmm, that’s possible. I never thought of that. If so, I’m all for that, I want more games like that, and maybe the PS5 hardware is now offering that possibility :) I know it’s one I’ll be keeping my eye on for sure.
Personally I dislike this combat. The movements are really unrealistic, unlike Elden Ring which has my favourite combat out of every game I've ever played
Absolutely in love with the sword play animations. Wonderful homage to chinese martial arts cinema. If they actually make it fun to play and challenging, this could absolutely be something special
@@bigdaddynero3497imma leave this comment here and watch yours age like spoiled milk. Why on earth would SONY reveal a fake trailer, Billion dollar corporations won’t jeopardize their reputation like that.
Black myth wukong, where winds meet, and now this, you should’ve seen a pattern. They will never be released. These Chinese studios don’t make games, they only make trailers to lure investors for more funds lol pretty much the same case with every industry in China
@@choosey8057 You're hilarious. You're actually vouching for this Chinese dev with clearly fake gameplay? A dev who's done it in the past? Funny joke. SONY probably looked at the trailer, thought it looked flashy and allowed them to be showcased (probably costs money to make an appearance). Lots of idiots, you included, are falling for this Chinese game trailer.
I watched the trailer like 500 times, and it still doesn’t get bored, so excited for this game. This dark setting, the combat, it all feels so smooth and great. Hopefully it isn’t a souls like or maybe with optional difficulty settings.
I think they said somewhere the game has souls-like elements, but won’t be extremely difficult like those games, so I’m guessing there will be different difficulty options
Out of everything shown in the showcase this grabbed my attention the most with its combat. Nuts were not launched into orbit this showcase but that’s ok 👌 *Edit: HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION THE GAME LISTED IS BLOODBORNE?!?!
Kenji Tanigaki is the action director, who was with Donnie Yen's stunt team in HK for many years and went on to do the action for Rurouni Kenshin. Glad to see his action directing in this game!
@@antonioballve9779 Obviously its influenced by Sekiro and dark souls. But it still looks unique and amazing! Graphics, style, art and fighting animations + blood seem so cool!
@@4HiSeth While I wouldn't call this entirely original, Sekiro and Nioh 2 are both Japanese. This is Chinese mythology. We do not have many AAA games pulling from that lore set. And we currently know nothing about the gameplay beyond the animations and combat aesthetic taking a wholly different approach than the games you mentioned.
I read the article written by the creator of this, and he stated this game originally started as an RPG Maker project before he decided to develop it on UE5 years later instead. I am so glad he made that decision, because this looks amazing!
What I find funny is that this trailer doesn't want to go slow at all. Even the final cutscene is trying to somewhat slow down the pace, but the camera is still going a little too fast for the dramatic dialogue.
If you think this game is real, you only got yourself to blame. Tell me, what's the button inputs for those combat move? They just pull back the camera to make it looks like someone is playing a game. It's one of those unreal engine 5 "video" by some chinese dev.
@@wasteofskin1551hate to admit it but your right, but those could be combat finishers or some of them, it just looks too realistic to be the button combos
@@wasteofskin1551 I've seen fake, this looks like actual gameplay. The devs seem to have experience with 2D beat'em ups. There are small jerky motions and displacements that make it look way too authentic to be QTE. Generally the fake gameplay trailers make the whole thing look overly smooth. Some stuff looks tacky enough to be nothing but a finisher of a scripted sequence, but the whole choreography with the 4 or so enemies in the rain looks genuine to me. It could end up being disappointing, but I'm certain that this game is trying something new and I'm all for it.
which is why we all just really need to hold back any resolutions based on our impression of this well, put together trailer. Devs have gotten VERY savvy about advertising and promotion nowadays. Even though this looks like sincere "gameplay" it's likely, completely scripted. Maybe some of it is real gameplay... maybe some parts play out like QTE's... nonetheless, it's all a big, grey question mark until we are able to feast our eyes on actual, real-time, non-scripted gameplay.
@@drinnerd8532 Look's hella scripted unless this is an actual gameplay but you be pressing buttons in this like quick time events since it's so fluid there's no way this is a real gameplay
If this is actual gameplay, then this is an immediate pre order. But I'm always skeptic wenn they don't Show the Hud or any Kind of menu. Weird of me I know but I stand by it.
The tons of authentic details and references in this game are off the roof that only true Chinese swordsman fans and culture enthuisiasts can tell. The Lion Dance at 0:52, the Sichuan Opera Face Changing at 1:10, the niche weapon, Xue Di Zi (basically a rounded throwing guillotine) the boss wields at 1:35. Man I feel like I'm even more excited about this game than Wukong: Black Myth lol .
@MatMate Original game: The protagonist is severely injured with only 66 days of life, and he is being pursued by his own assassin organization, which is skilled at manipulating corpses to become ghost soldiers (people without faces appearing in the CG)
@@matmate5795 Obviously its influenced by Sekiro and dark souls. But it still looks unique and amazing! Graphics, style, art and fighting animations + blood seem so cool!😂
Didnt expect much when i clicked on this but wow, the action is insane. Those swordfight really capture the wuxia style and all those bosses stance capture the essence of old chinese martial art villians. That Flying Guillotine, just wow!
I hope this does well so we can eventually get a high fantasy martial arts game based on immortal cultivation in the west. I want to fly around on a sword summoning lightning from the 9th heaven on giant demons.
I love how flashy the combat system is. It reminds me of 70s and 80s martial arts movies :) But I hope there's actual depth to the combat mechanics and real mastery is required to look this cool. Because I don't want just to look like a badass, I want to feel like one.
we're not even get "Where winds Meet" and then this game appeared also, this fluid combat it's not something new. Jet Li : Rise to Honor (2004) on PS2 actually use this kind of Fluid Combat System. Bujingai : Forbidden City also has fluid parry mechanic
@@cylop224 Sekiro probably has the most interesting combat system for these kinds of games. The rest of the soulslike have pretty simple but solid combat systems.
Why are people hating so much. This trailer looks incredible and despite the fact we know very little about this at the moment, this game has insane potential. Regardless of your views, you have to appreciate the effort and how incredibly well made this looks at the present time!
Literally gave me vibes of Sekiro, Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, and Ghost of Tsushima all in one and I’m all for it, I’ll definitely be getting this when it drops😭❤️
@@boldone66 actually that too, you right, it seems like they took inspiration from a bunch of ninja and samurai games and made it into one massive game
My BEST guess is Attacking is constant press, and there is a button that FLASHES while your attacking, that allows you to parry while keeping the flow. Its probably only 1 button to parry-Entering a parry state that parry all enemies quickly, but you have to keep pressing the parry when prompted-and this could be in quicker succession. My best guess anyways to make it possible for normal gamers! (Increased parry button press on max difficulty and decreased window timing)
This is the best animation I have ever seen in the video game, so fluid so clear, and the sound, especially of the swords clashing, and than the music, never been this hyped about the video game.
It is our honor to be part of the event, we did not expect so much attention, please follow us and stay tuned for the next milestone🙂, maybe very soon...
There are at least 5 or 6 coming out if you include the last state of play they had maybe a year ago? It's a lot of Chinese money flooding the gaming market. They all seem to be new at a console game as well so who knows how many actually release?
@@sws212 Oooh~ Now I'm more than looking forward to seeing more. Hopefully there'll be a few or something that'll allow us other options of Chinese traditional weaponry. Always wanted to fight with a fan or the chain whip, even strange unconventional weaponrys. 😙👍
Because politics and hardware hold back Wuxis games like this in the past. Nowadays with Genshin Impact success opening up huge flood of market for Chinese Games to enter the mainstream, I hope games like this will became the norm of action games in the future.
Very nice looking trailers. But so far performance on launch for these games are terrible. Until they fix that these hyper realistic games will be garbage.
This game looks like it could’ve been released 7 years ago and it’s one of those games that just age perfectly. I love how the animations are clean. No unnecessary 100000 particles. Just swords hitting each other.
man, that combat movement is great. If you grew up watching chinese Kungfu movies and episodic series from 80s to early 2000s, all those motion and action are familiar. Hopefully it will be like that in release.
The weapon at 1:37 is The Flying Guillotine, widely used by Embroidered Uniform Guard during thr Ming Dynasty (myth says it was invented by one of the Ming emperors). Designed to attached to the enemies head and decapitate them.
I was so excited to see that weapon! It may not be terribly practical in real life, but there is no reason why it can’t be an awesome weapon in a video game!
Will it come to Steam? There was an animation called Samurai Jack, it reminded me of that. The stage performances, the way the game works and the fighting moves are amazing. Please bring this game to PC.
A game trailer based on knowing nothing about the game before watching it hasn’t caught my eye like this in a while, dope aesthetics, awesome looking combat (I’m assuming it’ll be similar to Arkham series just with more fluent animations to counter etc but I hope it delivers cause it looks sick
They've said it's going to be very similiar to a soulsbourne, but they aren't going "full throttle" on the difficulty. Music to my ears. I LOVE the vibe of those games, but the punishment has always been a bit much for me.
@@TrumpIsTheRootOfAllEvil People use "soulsborne" for everything these days. It's like people don't understand that soulsborne are supposed to be methodical with an emphasis on position based with punishing recovery animations on attacks. Anything more "over the top" and you get Ninja Gaiden or DMC, which came out many years before even Demon Souls.
