The documentary film Phantom, is dedicated to the growing amputee community of nearly 60million worldwide. Approximately 90% of amputees experience a condition called phantom limb syndrome (PLS). which is described as sensations either painful or
otherwise, in a limb that no longer exists. In addition to the life adjustment to limb loss, the depression rate among amputees is 92.5% with an attempted suicide rate of 27.5%.
This film follows the experience of three amazing amputees on their journey to free the Phantom and also provides clinical perspectives on causation, treatment, and emerging technologies to reduce PLS.
