Is it strange that I prefer this cast over the MASK one even though both casts did beautifully in their own ways? I do love the way the dressing room and the Phantom's lair look and how they have unique clothing designs for the rest of the scenes (particularly PONR, Masquerade, and Il Muto. PONR's choreography surprised me here in both casts too, well done!) . I have seen the show when it was on Broadway (so lovely) and in Las Vegas (not as good as Broadway's version, but I do love how the Phantom dangled from the chandelier), and now seeing this online, I do hope to see more from my old stomping ground. Nice touch on using the chandelier from the US Tour production, I was surprised when I heard they stored the props not too far from where I am after the show closed. I noticed there were a few moments where either they weren't on key or sang some lyrics at the wrong point of the song. But I let it slide as they picked themselves up and kept going and because their acting skills got me invested in them. The way the actor playing Raoul in both casts delivers "Why make her lie to you to save me?" gave me chills and I love it. And I found myself wanting to cry by the end, bravo. I also must give The Beacon Players credit for working with what they had in terms of cast members, it's not their first rodeo working with a cast that had more women than men. I was in a production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown during the 2012-2013 school year there (graduated in June 2013), and was Lucy. Almost all of the cast was girls with two boys, so they cast two girls in the roles of Schroeder and Snoopy. As an alum from BHS and fellow theater lover, I wish them the best of luck in their future shows. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Something Rotten, or 42nd Street would be in the cards I'd wager.

The Beacon Players put on an absolutely mesmerizing performance! I had the privilege of witnessing the Phantom Of The Opera show not once, but twice, and its impact on me is truly indelible. I must applaud the exceptional teamwork displayed by the students, volunteers, and local businesses. Their collaborative efforts have brought about a flourishing arts scene within our school district, benefitting the entire community. The dedication and hard work of the remarkable schools, the volunteers, the students, and the teachers who have poured their hearts into this program for a significant period of time is truly an inspiration. It serves as a reminder to all of us about the vital role our community plays in shaping the lives of our students.

I was lucky enough to see Thr Phantom, at the Civic Opera House in Chicago. In that opening scene, they flew the chandelier from the stage to the ceiling during that first chord. The entire audience gasped as one person.
