PhantomX using AX-18A Robotis servos. Demonstrating the Phoenix code written by Jeroen Janssen and ported to C by Kurt Eckhardt. Modified by Kurt and me. Check out other robots from Trossen Robotic
So many ideas for this! So many possibilities! Cool toys for kids, military all-terrain drones, search and rescue scouters, or even personal guard robots that come out of the floorboards! The list could go on!
This might be the the scariest thing we've ever seen in 10 years, we'll think back to this moment and shuddered with a overwhelming amount of regret. "we could of stop this now"
... no. Just no. Robots don't have ambition, emotion, empathy, anything like that, and never will. It is impossible to create genuine feelings through computer code. We can and have programmed what may appear to humans to be happiness, sadness, etc., but it is not. It is a programmed response for the benefit of the user's experience and nothing more. Don't be so intellectually lazy.
Benjamin Goodman ....no. Just no. Just because the robot doesn't set out with the ambition to kill humans, doesn't mean they won't; as you said, they are programed by people. put a gun on top of that and you got a little remote control assassin. Continue to program it so it has more autonomous functions, and you got an army of little scary as shit spider fucks that can locate and take down a specific target. just because the robots themselves won't have the ambition to murder all human life on the planet, doesn't mean a human wont make them do it. dont be so intellectually lazy.
Alex Carter Thecrazyfish12 we have AI now, one is called siri, another one is called cortana (no not the one from halo) and think of all those chat bots online - as basic as they are, they are still considered AI, even the NPCs from every game uses a basic AI code
Imagine, your home alone, sitting on the couch in the dark, and then you hear the sound of the robot fastly approaching you and theres no where to run.
the only people who are allowed to dislike this video are people who built there own rover that walks on mars..this is simply awesome. How can people even think about disliking this video
Reaction: "Oh, you know, this is kinda cool. Little baby voice actually makes this kinda cute." Thing starts running, spider-like: "FUUUUUUU-done. Too creepy." lol
Holy crap, I was wearing headphones in a dark room and wasn't expecting a kid's voice. It sounded like someone was standing about half a metre to my left, I nearly jumped out of my skin!
Interesting stories for the child to tell in a few years: "I was playing with my cars and this one time I tried to balance one on my Dad's six legged walking robot..."
When you think about it... Who in here wanted to be a mad scientist as a kid? Building machines, mixing up explosives... This is probably the closest you could come to doing just that. I congratulate you.
Should fit a a webcam and some light sensors on it. That would be funny to have it run underneath something whenever there was movement, as well as watch a SpiderCam.
Please please please, upload a video of one of these scaring the crap out of a cat. I don't know why, but I'd be fascinated to see how they react to the robot acting in various ways.
