It is fascinating to watch this unfold. My dog has been using buttons to communicate for around 2 years now & she amazes me daily! In today's video, I am sharing something incredible that my dog is doing, she is using toys to reference the colors of other items to make requests for specific things.

We have done a lot to help for sure! There’s a lot of us that have been submitting reports for years to a cognitive research lab so hopefully this will help other animals in the future.

This is great. I'll be interested to see where this goes. I miss my girl so much. 😪 She was always so eager to learn new buttons. I recently adopted another Standard Poodle but so far he doesn't have any interest in buttons and I think he's a little afraid of them. We'll keep trying and hopefully he'll come around. Give your girl a kiss from me. ❤

You and Pharaby are my fave! @JenFarrer here’s an idea I have that may help u prove your theory about colors. Take two buttons. Paint one teal and then one purple. Tell her “go press the dingbert button.” And “go press the scooby button. If she presses it then u know.

Give her 3 choices of different puzzles, with yhe one you believe she is asking for. then say to her; "Show me ......" see if she chooses that exact puzzle. Just a thought.

OK, this video came out a year and a half ago, but I'm only seeing it now, so sorry if anything I say is out of date. 1) So glad to finally learn who Dinah is, other than a curse word 😆 2) I like that you're taking into account different perceptions of color (I feel like some humans with talking animals fail to address this kind of thing) 3) Presumbly the way you would test this would be by forming your own sentences, and seeing how Pharaby interprets them. Like... well I don't know what you have around the house, what you'd be willing to buy, or even which words Pharaby knows, so this will be a shoddy example. But, hypothetically, lay out a couple dog-sweaters of diverse colors, press "DINGBERT SWEATER", and see if she looks at the teal one. But, as I say, it's been a long time since you posted this video, so I'll bet you've already tried something like this?
