Good to see you back Paul. Watched "Monsters" too, but didn't chime in. Too busy of late. Pretty sure all of Courtney's fans and I'd bet Courtney too missed your reaction. A number of us went back to your other reactions trying to seek you out to react to her new songs and keep you updated with all the history to Courtney's new independent status and all that went down with her and her labels. This song and a number of others, which she wrote lyrics for them, which some were just small clips on social media, she explains some of the bull crap she had to endure with the music industry and how the that 13 year old shy little girl from her AGT audition couldn't stay the same as some fans wanted her to in this particular song. She also throws in some metaphors of how the music industry bait a person in not knowing they don't keep their promises and lead you on. Her 1st original song release since going independent "Breakable" explains that in some details. It's a great power type ballad and also another great music video. Highly recommend it. I think you'll enjoy the other side of Courtney. Some things you may have missed this past year is Courtney Co-writes with highly regarded musician, song writer, producer Kevin Bowe who worked with so many legends of the past, that he either wrote, co-wrote and/or produced music with. He absolutely loves Courtney. They've been working together for years on the side before forming a 50/50 partnership, all service by him at no charge and they spit the music writing part of it. Courtney still gets to tour and has full responsibility on that side of the music business. Unlike any label, Kevin is fully vested in making great music with Courtney on a equal basis. She gets to do the music the way she sees and hears it in her head with the professional experience's Kevin has to offer. When Courtney got invited to perform at Carnegie Hall for Clive Davis, who chose Courtney over Miley Cyrus, Kevin was there to meet her and be her handler so too speak. Then he brought her back to his studio in Minnesota to finish her album they had been working on over the years. They never met in person prior to that Concert. Oh, and btw, Courtney killed at Carnegie Hall. She got a standing ovation from the audience, many of whom didn't know anything about her. I was there telling people next to me all about her. They were amazed. Another performance you'll want to react to I hope.

The reason Courtney is not yet a global superstar has to do with a number of obstacles she has had to overcome, one by one. She will be switched on everyone's radar in 2025 when her album is out and tour started!
Amazing reaction. You should seriously check out her other music videos Breakable and Call Me Back, and at Christmas time, the audio video Christmas Rocks. I totally agree, she should be top of the charts. She has so much power, skill, emotion and soul. There are so many music videos that I can remember from other singers, with totally forgettable songs. Satellite by Harry Styles. A beautiful video, but if I heard the song on the radio, I wouldn't know it. The same goes for Wish You The Best by Lewis Capaldi, amazing video, but what is the song again. Not so for Courtney, and possibly some songs by Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa... not all of them are memorable, but there are a handful.
Hi Paul. Great reaction as always. I don't know what more there is to say about Courtney. IMO, she is the greatest artist I've had the privilege of hearing in my lifetime, and there isn't even a close second. If she just focused on a single genre, she would be spectacular but, as you know, she can sing just about anything, and be absolutely magnificent with it. That ability will one day put her in the 'legend' category. Courtney has shared a number of clips of songs that are candidates for inclusion in her upcoming album, and they are simply mind fabulous. What do you get when the voice of a lifetime releases an album full of music that has been lovingly crafted to be exactly what she wants it to be. You get a masterpiece that we'll be talking about for the next 50 years. Absolutely terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. So many messages in this song. First, you were right. Courtney has confirmed that she is is singing about, among other things, no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Past/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney in the video and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland). Secondly, for the last four plus years, the labels have tried to tell Courtney what she should be. Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Now that the labels are gone, she has released a wealth of fantastic originals. Lastly, when all the paparazzi come to the door and she turns them away, she is saying that to be able to release the kind of music I love is more important than the possible fame, if I have to sell out to get it. So buckle up. You're going to be busy catching up and it's going to be a wild ride. Can't wait to hear more.
Good reaction again. As you say a catchy song. Too bad you take from the last a little to the first. But that matters less. The first three songs have a bit of a common thread in them. "Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here and Call Me Back" It's a bit about Life after AGT and all the twists and turns around it. She was signed by Simon from Agt but he sold the company. Then Courtney got a new label that wanted to change her into something she didn't want a regular pop girl and wasn't allowed to release her songs. But during this time she got in touch with Kevin Bowe who was interested in working with her which they did and still do. So she let her contract expire, which it did at the turn of the year 2022-2023. After that things started happening and some of her songs were released. She finances much of this herself, including the videos. She is a hard-working girl, despite many setbacks, she stands strong and wants to pursue her dream. @@Paul-PharaohTV Pretty sure they mean Monsters is the 4th of the 5 original songs Courtney released last year and That Girl Don't Live Here is the 2nd because they went on to say they kinda tell a story in order.

When her first two original songs came out last year, Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here, she made it pretty clear they were chosen to represent her relationship with the music industry and why she's an independent artist now. @@Paul-PharaohTV I think with they meant is the audio between your mic and the Courtney's video is uneven or better to say unbalanced. Her audio is lower in volume compared to your talking mic if you listen through a sound system. Probably hard to notice with a phone. It was a great reaction. Showed how much you, like other fans appreciate her talent.
Courtney might very well see this and respond in the affirmative to you. She has to a number of reactors. The story of this song is her response to the record producers who considered her as that 13 year old and tried to turn her into a ditty bopper. As an independent, she is controlling now. That young naive girl is not here any more.
Yeah, I caught the below-the-surface meaning here, that this song isn't really about an ex-boyfriend. And I think she must have passed along the idea to whoever wrote the video here - it starts with the ex knocking on her door and trying to be charming -- but for some reason he's holding a pen and paper, like he wants her to sign a contract. And she slams the door in his face. I love it!
