I am watching on catch up. I'm pre-diabetic, and wondered whether exercise (like walking)😊 is better after a meal, or is there a "golden hour" that doing exercise in would minimise an insulin spike? Thank you for posting this video, guys. X

Thank you for the question! Walking or exercise can be helpful at any time. At least 150 minutes of exercise/week is recommended. Some people who engage in more vigorous exercise may see a spike in sugars and this can be alarming but it’s just the body providing energy for the workout. Regular physical activity is very beneficial, and certainly could be helpful after a meal and this also increases gastrointestinal motility though I haven’t seen any literature proving that one is better than the other in terms of timing. I hope this helps!

I have heard good things about the Freestyle Libre. I would suggest asking a pharmacist as they could talk with you about some of the options/features that are more specific to the individual. If you are in Canada the meters are often covered with a diagnosis.

@@FriendlyPharmacy5 Lyndsey thanks. I live in Ireland. Prior to retirement I was a nurse & midwife We used to get free meters from reps. But I am retired some years now & I expect in that time great improvement?! I was speaking with friend who advised they can have a reader app on their phone now I appreciate your takin time to answer me. Love your programme I think I’m coming to terms with his diagnosis as well Active small bit over weight , not that u would notice they cook all their meals from scratch. But he had sarcoidosis 15 years ago Enough🤭. Wishing you the best Maureen
