The most important thing you told was in the last line. What you should do is check what type of non clinical jobs are available in Australia. So talk to people out there and try gaining educational or work experience related to it. Reason medical coding or PV not be job profiles doing well in Australia.

You can apply but in the interview you have to prove you can do the job, so have to prepare well for the interview.

Hi, it depends on if you enjoy it..

Before I answer this I would like to know a few things 1) are you from India or abroad? 2) What are you doing with your career right now? 3) Why do you intend to make the shift after 15 years? The reason I am asking this is not to pry into your life. But, I would not want you to jump careers randomly after looking at our videos and regret it later. So let me put across certain facts based on India: 1) Starting salaries in PV or clinical research is at the range of 2.5 to 3.5 lakhs per year in India. NOT PER MONTH, IT IS PER YEAR. So if you are already doing financially well in dentistry remember there will be a dip in your income. 2) Clinical research doesn’t mean you will be doing the experiments. Initially, you will be assisting experimenters with planning and execution. To be the primary researcher you need to get that kind of a job or grant. 3) Things might seem rosy on the other side. But all fields require a lot of hard work and have their own problems. My suggestion first will be to understand in depth what you getting into and just don’t dive. Next, I will answer what you asked a few other options for Clinical Research courses in India. Again before you join, remember many promise 100% job placements. But again that might not happen. You need to trust your competence to find a job and move ahead. I dont see much growth apart 2 start wod my own but its too costly n even there is lot of saturation. Moreover, there is bit of stagnancy as well.Somewhere down the line growth matters. Hence i would like to make a shift. Also i could give a bit more time to my family as well.

Yes. I can understand your situation. But don't forget to keep those points in mind. Like the drop in income & struggles of being in a new field. Pharmocovigilance companies do hire at times even if you haven't done a certification. But you need to be clear about the field as they would ask those questions in the interview. You can give it a try. Clinical research is tougher to get in without a certificate or degree. Wish you luck.

@Dr Arijit Saha I am also worry sbout my future as a Dentist. Though I am new in the Clinical dentistry but looking at the current scenario I am also tensed about my carrer. If a Doctor with 15 years of experience wants to shift to non clinical field then obviously this indicates a lot about Dentistry 😌

Don't know the scope of PV abroad..

You can check freelance roles like medical writing, editing and designing. Most other jobs have shifted to offline now..

No much jobs in medical colleges for BDS graduates currently. First people used to do MSc in biochemistry or anatomy and join. Currently they have enough MBBS doctors to fill that role.

There are 2 parts to this answer 1. why are you leaving dentistry and 2. why PV. For the first you have to explain why you feel you enjoy a corporate job and for the second you have to explain why you think you will enjoy pharmacovigilance.

Don't do bds if you planning to do non clinical. Non clinical after BDS is for those who not happy with dentistry. Do BDS only if you think you will enjoy working on pts. It can be india or abroad. But don't go through 5 years of college if you not keen on working on patients.

Don’t choose dentistry in India. It’s coming from another dentist after putting 13 years of my life into it. If u wish to do then directly Do DDS in USA or UK.

It is like any dentist post. When there is a vacancy you have to apply. There will be an interview. If selected you get the job.

I personally feel PV has more scope as the field has more depth as you grow. Not the same with CDM. But you need to enjoy pharmac to do PV not the case with CDM.

It might be true for you. Even I don't think I would enjoy a corporate job. But there are some who are enjoying it. Guess it depends on personality.

There is no direct recruitment of dentists in Indian Navy. Dental Corps is for triservices that isthey provide services to all three branches of armed forces namely Army, Air force & Navy. So first you get recruited/join in Army dental corps, then later you can apply for change of service/uniform depending upon yearly vaccancies in Navy and Airforce.

So you need to prepare for Army Dental Corps. Have made a video explaining it 🙂.

Hi a medical reviewer basically audits. He goes through records on the patients and tries to understand varies links between disease drug and treatment. If he comes across something he makes a note of it. This is just the basic but it involves more.
