Normally I don't like drummers over-embellishing a song, but seriously Troy, these licks are just exquisite to listen to and to watch. A drummer's drummer!!! Best cover on RU-vid to date.
@@finnleithomczyk5292 The producer and people that actually have a clue about music. This is a fun video to watch with awesome playing. But playing for a song is a totally different thing.
DrummerGAS I know, but since I am a drummer I like this kinda of stuff and would prefer it. I also know that this is different because I also have recorded songs with simple rhythm but played something different in live shows so it’s worth listening to, not just the same as the recording.
@@DrummerGAS you mean the producers and people that have a clue about shit pop music which is just the same old crap with a hand clap for a snare drum, i would rather this version anyday except i dont listen to shit teeny bopper pop music
I stumbled across this "cover" and was blown away. Your phrasing, musicality, and chops are fabulous. I particularly like the bell pattern you did in the beginning. Totally unexpected AND it worked. Impressive. Thanks.
this is good because drummers view it as good. a non-musician would view this as busy and not be able to focus on the vocals as much. its fantastic, but a non-musician wouldn't appreciate it like we do
I'm a drummer and I would find this way to busy if it were the actual recording. I do like his take on it though as just something fun to play around with.
@@randomdude1426 The whole thing sounds so damn clean though, that even if it is this "busy", people wouldn't notice too much. The Police had a fantastic drummer (Copeland) who came up with intricate drum parts, but that didn't hold them back too much.
The comment said "Best cover of the song" and your reply was "Me to but coop's cover was better" PS: coop3r is a technically and dynamically poor drummer. Glad people dig his stuff, but his timing, movement and feel all suck
People have to stop to compare which drummer is the best. Matt McGuire, Casey, Troy, Dylan Wood, Dylan Taylor, Luke Holland, this guys are fucking beasts!! Each one have a style. ''Chase the dream not the competition''. - Matt McGuire. But very nice cover indeed Troy!!
This might be the only drum cover video on RU-vid that is executed neatly with dynamics. In contrast with other drum covers on RU-vid with just fast-paced single stroke roll, which requires no skill but rather just endurance.
Tuna Durnal WOw, just let him give a compliment. Troy is a fkn badass drummer, and he's extremely good. But by all means, please post a video of you once you just "put in the work" and get that good. I've been playing music since early childhood and I'm not this good. So hop off your horse.
Tuna Durnal Well I wasn't expecting that response. I think you just won the "first person on the internet to ever react in an appropriate way" award. Haha. No worries.
Tuna Durnal love to see you accomplish something at this level than I’ll agree with you, but until then you’re comment made me lose brain cells, good day.
@@dantheman52420 Dude what are you even talking about? Don't make it weird. It was a comment of respect coming from somebody who is obviously a father.
Well troy, I can't explain how refreshing it is to watch someone who is such a natural at what he does..only wish I had half of that gift ...you turn a simply catchy song into something interesting ...ill be borrowing some of the fills lol.....keep them coming!
Is he the best drummer of the world? Hes not even the best drummer in the beatles. Take this quote with ya and think twice before posting the best drummer comments without any knowledge of the scene
You're making a fool out of yourself. He's good but not even near the top class drummers nowadays. Search for Marco Minnemann, Thomas Lang, Mike Mangini, Terry Bozzio, Steve Smith etc.
