What is included in the Dry Matter Intake of cow?

Vijay Dhatrak Everything the cow eats except for water. In very rough numbers, a cow will eat a 100 pounds of feed that contains 50% moisture so they eat 50 pounds of dry matter.

Jim Baltz thanks very much for the response. This particular video was really useful to understand the dairy industry from scientific manner. So appreciate that you shared the knowledge. I was reading about what should be the right mix in the fodder... green, dry, minerals.. and the proportion of it?.
