Pheasants! Save the Pheasants in the Wheat Swaths!!!! 2020
In this week's video I see pheasants in the wheat swath and I have to save them. I take the combine down the highway and pull into the ditch for traffic. I enjoy a combine snack and talk about what wheat can be used for. I fill up garbage bags full of wheat, which become my passenger. I love to wave at everyone while I'm in the combine. I talk about what a bushel per acre means. The grain loader moves to the new grain bins. I also talk about the kinds of crops that we grow. We primarily grow winter wheat, spring wheat, and barley. You are able to see a hawk in the field.

My Story... Hello. My name is Kate Stephens and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was 2 years old. Until recently the wheat we grow has been taller than me. My grandfather is 93 and he is the best mentor ever. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm and I decided that the amazing photos I take at harvest of our wheat and barley could make fabulous, exciting designs for fashion and accessories. That is how Kate’s Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my handbag as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
