It was a good attempt at porting this from the arcade which has loads a cool sprite scaling on an epic proportion - if you saw the arcade first you would never think this translated well to the humble megadrive/genesis
While I do believe the lady we rescue is easy on the eyes, it's the melancholic music that plays in the ending around 36:12 as we look at her after rescuing her that I love. It has this ethereal feel to it that reminds me of a lot of the nostalgic and melancholic melodies of the 80s anime, along with the hair and sad eyes--something I don't see much of anymore with modern anime or games. Actually, I can't see any modern examples, but alas. Wonderful sound.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel exactly like that. I even try to avoid listening that part's music because of the feelings it evokes, even though it's beautiful. It's kind a sad feeling when she's innocently looking at you at the end and you realize she isn't real. It's a simple game, but its art is beautiful.
@@Bloodreign1 my sad feelings stems from her platonic perfection, not from her lovely body figure alone (non-erotic love) Also we can't exactly measure the relationship between the Greek mythological beings with our contemporary standards, you have to consider that they're filled with incestuous plots...
The samples are all different in the Western releases; Artemis' voice is a little lower, and the power-up grabs are clearer, with the Speed Up being notably shorter. The echo sound is lost, unfortunately. A Saturn version would've been interesting but it didn't have the vertical resolution for a perfect port.
What a surprisingly technically competent shooter for the era. I mean it's no Thunderforce IV but better than I would have guessed given the release date.
@@orderofmagnitude-TPATPI meant for the era AND on the Sega Genesis. The reason I brought up Thunderforce IV is to point out that the Genesis can do much better, but Phelios actually wasn't bad considering how early it was released.
I like the translation of what seems to be Makai as "Devildom." The only other place I've seen that translation is Dragon Saber, another Namco game from around the same time.
Whoa, I watched the whole thing. This game is very compelling, gives off a nostalgic feeling. Well played too, congratulations! The ending is bonkers though, "loving you" written in a piece of paper? With lines too? wtf
Sr. Sacaninha Try 7sexy sins. The horizontal mambo-jumbo is much much easier to understand satanisem through technological province. Background checks through pornographic references thats preceeded through natuonaly judged notority that exceeds petty crime of every angles preceeds death warrents on every front and couples with pedophilla at every front. See with your mind or mind at your heart: The will of the triforce leads the life of a hero.
Broken English.. I read.. I see.. Blonde Girl... Blue Bra... I clicked.. She Beautiful... (The intro is pretty lame but as I saw the thumbnail... I clicked it too fast.. Good job for the longplay) Anyone felt being kissed by someone?... 💙💙💙
37:20 is easy 'cause you're beautiful Makin' love with you is all I wanna do Lovin' you is more than just a dream come true And everything that I do is out of lovin' you
It might be if you start imagining what the heck Typhon is doing to Artemis during those weird "break the wall" cutscenes" and the time in-between them.
