I received mine this week and don't have any of these issues luckily. I even tried holding it upside down and shaking it and it wouldn't budge. The top can sit a little off but I just twist it slightly and it seems to help it stick in. Great unboxing and review!
Great Review! The bottles are apparently made to twist on and off. Don't pull or push. I read that on Wetas site in the reviews btw. It was a reply by Wetta on a review that had the same issue.
Beautiful unboxing, very well made, explained and spaced! Really love this phial, I will be getting it for my collection (the inner scuffs kind of bother me but I’m sure they can be cleaned or covered up.)
Great in depth review video, in fact I ordered one after viewing your review. Can you please tell me why you used Isopropyl alcohol to fill, and do you know if that would take UV reactive dye? I also found your voice and style has an almost AMSR quality about it. Have you ever thought of doing relaxation videos or hypnosis?
Thank you! the thought behind the Isopropyl is to attempt to avoid any discoloring from water overtime and avoid possible fogging. Ha I've heard similar comments before but never really put any thought to doing something like that. I've too many things to do lately 😆 I appreciate the nice comment!
Hmm, looks a bit cheaply made to me. They should've put a bit more work into it and sold it for 150$ in my opinion. But I will still order it. Lighting like this is always nice and it's a small beautiful piece that fits everywhere. And it reminds me of Sam. How he fought Shelob despite it being hopeless. How he went on alone, leaving his dead friend behind, not even having time or strength to bury him. Having extreme doubts if he's making the right choice but still committing to it fully. Sacrificing himself for the whole world, since he knows there is no coming back home anymore. Sorry got a bit poetic there, but it's possibly my favourite chapter from the Lord of the Rings. By the way, do you know of the PureArts Life Size Sauron Helmet coming out? I'm considering ordering it, but I'm not happy that you can't display the helmet and Barad Dur at the same time. And since you are doing 3D printing, maybe you could do a wall mount for the helmet? Just an idea if that's your thing. :D
I can agree with that... perhaps this one should have been made a bit cheaper or like you said sold a better version. I'm a big fan of things with lights so I just had to have this. I appreciate your comment and love for the LOTR :D
Got mine and thankfully none of the glue smears are on it’s very clear. The loose stopper is on mine too though. It goes on just snugly but not good enough to hold the liquid if it tipped. I did get an updated notice in mine about the correct battery so hopefully any future ones include this documentation.
thats great to hear, glad to know they aren't all that way 😄 yeah I wish they'd update the box but I guess something is better than nothing. Thanks for commenting Todd!
This time weta could do a better job when you can see glue, wrong battery and the inside but thats not the kind of things your gonna look at Loved the editing, good music and the long video👍👍👍
I love your channel so much! I come to rest my heavy heart here when the rest of the world is too overwhelming. I don't need much else but beautiful Lord of the Rings treasures. Your soothing calming voice centers me. 🧝♀️💗 "Kinda makes you want to hunt a Shelob!" Hahahahaha.
I just got mine and opened it up today. Consider yourself LUCKY!! The lid on mine will NOT even go into the vial. It just dangles on top, ready to fall off!! 😢 Which means I can NEVER display it. 😢😢 I also can NOT show my LOTR fan group, since it does not fit together at all. 😢 I’ve contacted WETA, but they said it could be a few weeks before I even get a reply from them. I always purchase from WETA. Love their products. But this is the FIRST time I’ve ever had a problem with a LOTR prop. I’ve done EVERYTHING to get that lid to go in, but it’s impossible! I’d have to use excessive force and it would break the piece! I do NOT want to do that! Also, their NEW shipping methods (by courier), found my box just sitting on the front doorway. LUCKILY I found it! Courier drivers just leaving valuable packages in front of the door without a person’s knowledge. 😢
wow I'm sorry to hear that. I've actually heard from a few people that theirs was a VERY snug fit and wouldn't even fall out when shaking it like how I showed in my video. It seems Weta has a lot of variance in the quality of that top piece. Very sorry you got a bad one :( Weta needs to up their game I think seeing how they also just raised the prices for everything across the board. Thanks for commenting hope your day goes a bit better than the luck you had with that piece.
@@thecyberhobbit I managed today to fix it in a way to get the lid pushed into the phial. At least it won’t fall off the phial now. Not perfect, but at least it is sitting in it. I may have to permanently leave the lid inside the phial, since it takes too much pressure to insert it. Probably just a faulty one. At least now I can display it. Next step, to save up money for a Jens Hansen ‘one ring’. 😉 Take care.
I just got my phial and need to get a liquid to put in it. How has the isopropyl alcohol been working for you? Has it stained the glass or discolored at all?
Sadly it isn't an exact replica. They seem to throw in little differenced in all their merch... not sure why (the Smaug coins have no designs on the edge, for example. They do in the movie. The One Ring's text isn't centered the same way on the item for sale as it is in the movie. And even Galadriel's ring and other jewelry isn't as 'pointy' in the production pieces. Every item seems to have some inaccuracies built in.... maybe it's to make them easily differentiated from the actual props?). If you look closely at the clip at the beginning from the movie, you'll see there is no metal rim on the neck. Just the glass stopper rim. And the bottom of the lobes on the fluted bulb are well defined... like petals or something, where they are not on the replica. They're just dents. Too bad... for over a hundred bucks, you'd think they could bother to just do it right... but they never quite seem to.
@@thecyberhobbit it's been 7 months so I take it you never tried the glow in the dark liquid. Or you did and it worked great and you're keeping it to yourself. 😛
@@nickbonavita1379 🤣 Admittedly I sort of... forgot about it. It's still a nice idea though... did you order the Phial? I've seen some people add a drop or 2 of some light blue color and that seems to look pretty nice. The glow in the dark would be next level though.
Thanks for the nice review, you saved me some money. It doesn't look worth the money, so I won't be buying it. Honestly it looks like it's about worth $40
Triste qu'à 150 euros, il n'y ai même pas une batterie intégrée et avec une plus forte luminosité quand même. C'est comme vouloir symboliser le soleil avec une seule LED. :p
