For all those asking, the song is Let’s rock or die by Serj Anto. I use Splice to make many of my videos. I noted the song at the beginning of the short.
Had the pleasure of meeting Phil. He picked me up and bear hugged me! After that he put me down and said, Enjoy the show brother! Really freaking cool dude
I met the band at a signing at a Karma Records years ago, and Phil was heavy into the heroin at the time and he was so out of it he had to have someone hold his hand and help him sign his autographs. Ahhhh, the life of a rockstar! 🤘🤘🤘
My son was assigned as a bodyguard for Phil when he played at the venue my son worked at. He said Phil was a class act and even autographed a picture to give to me.
I went to high school with someone (Jim Erickson) who became a bodyguard for Dimebag Derrell and Judas Priest, he was built for it somewhat in high school and especially thereafter while bodybuilding, he was not very popular like myself at the time in high school, anyway P A N T E R A
@Slayer kill kill kill he didn't say together Just pointing out the fact that both Abbott brothers and Phil had a love for KISS from a young age. (Although was very common for the time)
The fact that you can tell what he was into be his looks, from Rock to Glam to Thrash to Punk to Hard-core to Groove to Black Metal, this dude done it all, GOAT in Metal 🤘🤘
He looks like god damn young Varg. I do not like the look on him. To each their own. He is a good looking guy, but I like his buff tattooed skinhead look, or the early Michale Graves hairstyle with half his head shaved and some long hair.
Had the privilege and honor of meeting Phil back stage on the Great Southern Trend Kill tour back in '96 before I joined the Marines. He was real down to earth. We took pics together & with the rest of the band. They all signed my poster, ball cap, back stage pass and concert ticket! To this day I treat the merch like GOLD!
@Rick Danger Everyone makes mistakes . Even Phil . Drugs cause alot of Problems . He is sober . Living better . I gives no FK to what you are saying . Good bye Gatekeeper
Dude Vinnie and Dime hated Phil at the end of their lives, especially Vinnie. No way either would approve. Vinnie didn’t even speak to Phil for the rest of his life after Pantera. 🤦🏻♂️
@@uriahuriah3792 you're not wrong. I just can't get over the fact that the coolest band on earth (Black Sabbath) went through that phase dressing like britney spears 😆
The greatest thing about Phil is that he could give two shits about fame and fortune. Dude will play in a bar or sold out stadium as long as he gets to do what he loves.
@@Debate_Pervert I can't say 100%but pretty sure he doesn't have any children. Apparently, he's sterile, which is a damn shame. His beauty should be propagated. I suppose if he wasn't sterile there'd probably be thousands of " lil' Phils" around!! What female could resist this sexual personification of the ultimate male??
Mann, 90s and early 2000's were the days. Here so, greatful to be born in 85, growingup listened to bands like, pantera, megadeth, metallica, ledzepllin, ozzy, Rancid, and the list goes on. Now those happy days r just the memories but these musics take me back.😢
But frontman to walk this earth!!! Phil Dime Vinny Rex and Cowboys from hell are the reason I play guitar and drums!!! Pantera Down Hellyea Damageplan helped me through so much from late 80s shit till now 2022!!!
I live in SD, saw that Pantera and Metallica are playing in Los Angeles next August, I know tickets are going to be pricey, but when they go on sale I'll definitely buy tickets (be late on rent if I have to)
I fuckin love you brotha. I've always wanted to meet you man but I've never got the chance my friend.. now I'm 50 and wish I could've partied with you at Dino's in fat city or charity's or zeplins.. maybe one day I'll get to shake your hand.. Keep fuckin rocking brother!!!
Dude is an icon. You should include an image of him from the House of Blues concert where he split his forehead open and blood was running down from his scalp.
Even Chuck Schulinder of Death was a fan of Motley Crüe, I never understood the whole glam metal vs thrash metal rivalry, they’re both badass genres in their own way, if you want to mosh and go bat shit crazy, thrash does the job, but if you want to just jam out while hanging out with chicks, glam does the job, Metallica even opened up for Ratt at a roller rink. I love both genres.
Hands down one of the best or maybe the best metal vocalist. You can't ask for a better frontman. I'm yet to come across someone who can match this guy.
