in 1992 Phil gave me a high five after his Photograph solo mesmerized me and my eyes locked in on the bridge of his Jackson guitar and he took his right index finger and pointed it upwards towards his face as I raised my eyes he was laughing his ass off and gave me a high five... I'll never forget that.. My coolest rock guitar god moment ever!
Hysteria is one of my favortie albums and the song women is hands down my favorite song the fact that phil just had the rockaman lying around is amazing that’s so cool that he’s kept it for so many years i love the whole album it’s a master piece rest in peace steve clark i will always miss you thank you Jeremy for an awesome interview with phil

I've heard of people naming their guitar after their kid, but of course Phil named his kid after his guitar. This guy is just the best. Always comes off as the nicest bloke. Insane tech man on the axe as well! :))
Brother, This is hands down the best interview I've seen with Phil on the topic of hysteria. You asked the questions fan/musicians want to ask. Phil remembers awesome detail and looked like he enjoyed the questions.
I am totally fixated on Phil's Primary Wave Pyramid in the background. Those are really tough to find. Very cool interview! It's neat to see Phil all excited and grabbing shit from his house to show you. Best Phil interview I've seen in ages! Be safe over in QC! 🤘🏽🇨🇦

I had a rockman back in the day, little did I know just how much cooler it would be today.. Wish I kept it. But back then everything was all about racks and floor processors/multi pedal effects etc..

Fantastic interview Jeremy! Your passion for the bands music is infectious. As a lifelong fan since 1988 this is great to see. they're still one of my favourite bands and the insight that Phil gave here is incredible. Surprised that he had a shirt on haha Phil is such a monster on the guitar... I first heard DL when i was a young kid but once i got into my early teens i and started getting interested in music i picked up DL rush zep floyd crue and a thousand others.. Thank you for all the amazing music Phil

Excellent interview! One of the best I've seen of Collen. So adorable to see you completely "fan girl" out with the jacket, the vinyl, all the technical questions that nobody else asks. You can tell you really love their music. I think I was 15 when Pyromania came out, so I definitely get it. Hysteria was even better. As for the orange vinyl, those of us who are old enough to have gone to the big arena concerts back when Pyromania was first released, remember vinyl albums coming out in different colors. The standard was black, but if an artist released a special limited edition album it woud usually come out in a different color vinyl. However, I only remember red and blue. I don't believe I've ever seen orange before.

Now I get it. Now I understand why the music doesn't have much bottom end/or heavy rhythm because the drums are last. I guess that's The Secret to having such a melodic driven sound. 90% of Rock bands the drums are 1st... very cool info!!!
Thanks for answering my question Jeremy! My questions are....Will they ever release some B-side songs? Also, before the production was complete on Hysteria, are there any songs that have different progressions or versions than the finished mix of Hysteria. I.E. The alternate vocals to Love Bites, the little call and answer after the first line in the chorus? i would be fascinated by that. Also, Def Leppard are my favourite band in the world.
Lucky to see them twice live since 2017 and what I respect about them is how they've managed to avoid wrecking themselves with drugs like most rock bands and keep going despite setbacks with Steve and then the drummer. Fully deserve their renaissance
With the rockmans, I’ve done some digging and I think I have a good idea of what they did that Phil didn’t mention. 1. X 100 as phil said 2. Modded so they could turn the chorus and reverb off/or use a jhs Rock box or anything else. 3. Run it through a Palmer speaker simulator 4. EQ the s*** out of it 5. Blend in other effects like flanger ect, you can hear this on Armageddon it

Is it me or everybody is skipping the covid nonsense in interviews these days? If you re waiting for politicians to give you back the freedom they took from you , you re sadly mistaken! Hysteria is a masterpiece like no other in the history of music. Sound, production and genius songwriting! Musicianship in the highest level supreme. Cant even wonder how anybody comes up with songs like Rocket, Animal, Women etc would love to listen to the early demos of all those songs. And how anybody can develop an idea to that !!!!! Something like Whitesnake did with the "1987" 30th anniversary edition, with early tapes of Sykes and Coverdale in a room just jamming.
Great interview. I like that it wasn't the same typical questions. Aside from Hysteria, personally, I've always wanted to know what are the backwards tracks saying in White Lightning? And why don't they ever play Desert Song live? I've heard that Joe loves the song, but the rest of the group not so much. Is that the reason?
