This almost makes me want to cry. I can't imagine what it would be like to not only be losing control over your body but to not be able to do what you've loved and done your entire life. Having his son take over has to take the sting out a bit though. That pride in his son is probably more than the pride he has in himself by what he'd been able to accomplish in this life.
That really sucks. I LOVE all of his work. Aging really shows no mercy on any of us. I just hope he is around for many, many more years. His music is engrained in my entire childhood and far beyond. Such a legend. One of the GOATs for sure!
May God continue to bless you, Phil Collins ! You've a wonderful, marvelous family, to help you through times as these ! As a fellow drummer, age 75, I watch you struggle to keep on keepin' on! It inspires me. I, too am beginning to have this and that show up as problems in my body. I've been playing drums professionally for 63 years. As a young man, I never had any problems from drumming. I'm thankful I can still play and am enjoying it, too. Arthritis in my hip and knees is showing up, but not enough to keep me from playing. My hands, arms, etc. are ok. As the stellar drummer and performer that you are, tears came to my eyes when I watched you have to tape your drumsticks to your hands...I must let you know, Phil, that I've admired Buddy Rich for most of my playing life. I know practically all his music. I once watched YOU play the drums with Buddy's band during the Burning For Buddy concerts. I'll tell ya' that you swung that band better than any other drummers who played with them at that time ! Your playing as a member of the orchestra, your dynamics, time, taste, and and swing feel were MARVELOUS, to say the least. I feel you'r NOT done, man ! You'll continue to give the music public terrific performances yourself and with your wonderful, talented family ! Thank you for all you do, sir !
This song is my religion. I entertain myself by picking a song that I want to hear on my last day of life. For some odd reason I had always picked the classical piece Bolero. It has the same effect as this song but more drawn out to its crescendo. This is my new Bolero! I always imagine slowly walking to the end like Phil has done to get to the drums.

I’m rooting for Peter Gabriel as singer He is OUTSTANDING. I’m wondering if Phil might be not be fully able to sing in good form after his demons. His son has a good arms for drumming Nic for drums!⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plus I never knew actress Lily Collins ( from To the Bone) was Phil’s daughter! Great acting,Lily, Plus good looks and talent run deep in this family! I’ve not kept up with Phil’s career tbh since 1980s much. So I was shocked hearing he fell into darkness as many famous& non famous of us,do.
